People started disliking me. There were multiple reasons for this: I won against the school's prince, Alastair in the sparring tournament, Iris started saying bad things about me to her friends who liked to spread rumors and Astéria had been quite nice to me while she ignored everyone else. Because of all this I could feel some of the hypocrite smiles turn into disdainful grins. I really didn't care what they thought of me and at first I didn't even notice their glares. It was only when Azore asked me about them that I did.

Iris didn't seem comfortable around me after people started talking behind my back and she was more and more silent in class. I wasn't even surprised to see her disappear with other classmates later on. If she was that kind of person then it was for the better for her not to be with us. Azore however was angrier and couldn't stop staring at Iris and her other friends while we were eating:

"She has no personality."

Orange who was eating with us as usual followed Azore's gaze and frowned:

"What happened to Iris?"

I smiled:

"Nothing."

But Azore was angry:

"What do you mean nothing? She was all nice and kind and as soon as people started bullying you she disappeared. That's so mean. How could she talk on your back?"

Orange's frown deepened and I felt a chill pass through my body:

"People are bullying you?

-No, no. It's really fine."

Orange didn't believe me but didn't ask anymore knowing that I wouldn't say more. The bullying continued but my fanclub blocked most of it. When they couldn't I would get pushed on my way to class or would get laughed at. I didn't pay it any attention but wouldn't let people do what they wanted either. When I got pushed I pushed back hard enough for the other person to finish on the ground while smiling and apologizing nicely. People knew I was being fake and it was actually quite fun. I was really hard to bully because if I didn't notice the bullying then I just didn't care.

Once people got mad because I was being way too unbothered and they started criticizing me:

"Who does she think she is? She is not even that pretty.

-The prince would never marry her if he wasn't forced to."

I started laughing:

"Oh my god. Is that all you got? That's pitiful even for you. One I am gorgeous and two I really don't want to marry that guy. We are being forced, that's not a secret. At least say something a bit hurtful. Come on. I don't know, say something about the fact that my dad never loved me or about the fact that my trauma prevents me from ever trusting anyone. Something of the sort."

They didn't like my examples and only rolled their eyes before walking away:

"You are just jealous because I am way funnier than you."

People started getting frustrated and I had to admit that their imagination was improving a bit. Soon after I got a letter in the name of Astéria which was surprising. I knew it wasn't her and didn't even pay attention to the content of the paper. I didn't open it and threw it away without a second thought. I completely forgot about the letter a second later but Orange saw it in the trashcan and asked me:

"What's this?

-What?"

She took the letter out and stared at it:

"What's this?

-Oh, that's nothing."

But Orange wanted the truth:

"Please tell me.

-It's really nothing. Someone made a dumb joke.

-Who?

-I don't know."

Orange started opening the letter and I jumped up:

"Don't read that. They don't deserve our attention."

I took the letter but it was too late and Orange had already read it. I never saw her that angry before and I felt the room's temperature fall by five degrees suddenly.

"Orange?"

She didn't answer me and suddenly turned around, leaving the room. She left with the letter and I stayed behind, puzzled. Something told me not to follow Orange but even if I wanted to, I couldn't feel my legs anymore. Orange had a terrifying glow in her eyes and for some reason I felt it was familiar. Did anyone ever get so worked up on my behalf? Orange was really the only one who liked me that much.

I waited in my room for hours and Orange only came back late in the night. Seeing that I waited for her she seemed ashamed for some reason:

"Why didn't you sleep?

-You know I can't sleep without you. Come here. I am exhausted."

Orange laid down next to me and gently took my hand in hers. I turned to her and frowned:

"What's wrong?"

She slowly rubbed my palm, not daring to look into my eyes.

"I am here for you."

I felt my heart ache. I knew she was and I knew she would always be. I really liked Orange. We grew up together and she was the only person I truly trusted. During all those years she had been there for me without exception and would always do anything for me without even having to ask. Not once had I been disappointed and even if I had a problem with trusting people, not once had I doubted Orange. I had tried. I hated building my hopes up and always counted exclusively on myself. But Orange found her way behind my walls and now she was the exception to my fears. I knew she wouldn't betray me but even if she did, I didn't care. I was ready to put all my hopes in her. I felt really happy next to her and only smiled:

"I know. Thank you for always being there. You can always count on me too."

She squeezed my hand even harder and finally looked up at me. There was something weird in the air and the only answer I had was to pull her in my arms. Orange accepted the embrace with pleasure and disappeared in my chest listening intently to my heart. I felt her hands grasp the clothes on my back and felt her snuzzle a bit before finding the perfect position.

We fell asleep like that and the next day I went to school feeling perfectly light. The pseudo bullying didn't bother me at all but now I felt even better. If Orange was on my side then I didn't need anyone else. I felt very grateful and had to share. On the way to school I turned to Orange all smiles:

"You are really the only person I need."

Orange froze before going completely red. She didn't move for so long that I thought time may have stopped. I started waving my hand in front of her face with a frown:

"Orange? Can you hear me?"

She needed a few more seconds so I just waited. When Orange came back her voice was shaking:

"Could you repeat please?"

I laughed:

"Nothing important."

It seemed like she was ready to cry:

"Please!

-I didn't say anything.

-Poehina!"

I laughed before running to class:

"Oh, I have to go, too bad."

Orange chased me for a long time which made me laugh.
