The echoes of Snoop Dogg's 'Gin and Juice' reverberated down the narrow hallways of the house, mixing with the lingering aroma of weed and spilled beer that soaked the chocolate-toned hardwood floors. A group of lively, multi-hued black women gathered in one corner of the cozy living room, their gold hoop earrings swaying as they giggled and chatted. Their matching pink acrylic nails sparkled under the cool blue lights, while nearby, a group of black men of various skin tones passed a blunt between them and shook dice in their hands. The air was a heady mix of strong cologne and sweet vanilla perfume. As she was pulled along by her best friend, her brown pupils caught a glimpse of a brown mocha-skinned woman giving her a mean mug from the corner.
Their matching red stiletto heels clicked against the polished brown hardwood floors as they moved through the room, surrounded by navy blue walls adorned with posters of old-school rappers. The soft moonlight filtered through the sheer white curtains, casting a flattering glow on her melanated skin.
"Lexi, I can't keep dragging your ass all night. Ever since you came back from college, you've been acting strange," Norah grumbled under her breath, releasing her friend's arms and shaking her hands to ease the discomfort. Irritated by Lexi's behavior, Norah couldn't help but feel frustrated.

"Now that we're here, let's grab a drink and have a good time! Even you, Ms. Bachelors Degree in Business, deserve to let loose and have some fun. I can tell you're itching to catch up with your best friend Caine," Norah playfully sang, her fingers interlaced and pressed against her cheeks, as if she were smitten with love. She couldn't help but tease her friend about her little crush on Caine.
Alexis wore a stunning red spaghetti-strap dress that complemented her curvy figure. Paired with red stiletto heels, a gold necklace with her first initial, and a red tote purse wrapped around her shoulder, she was the epitome of a fashionista. Her raven box braids were neatly tied back in a ponytail, adding to her allure. Despite knowing that she looked amazing, her heart was weighed down with regret.
