Summary: The avengers celebrate Christmas together at the compound.

Alena, Natasha, Maria and Wanda sat together in one of the many rooms at the compound, getting ready for Tony's Christmas party.

For the youngest of the group, this was big, since she was actually allowed to attend for the first time this year.

,,Ria, which dress?"

The 15 year old inquired, holding up two dresses. A muted green one and a flashy red one.

Maria, who was currently the only one in the room with Alena, since Nat had gone to help Wanda with her hair, looked up and studied the two dresses for a second.

,,Wear the green one"

She finally smiled, receiving a look of bewilderment from the young redhead that resembled Natasha so much.

,,What?"

The deputy director asked, matching her friend's daughter's expression.

,,Why the green one? It's ... boring"

Alena frowned, eyeing the dress with a sceptic look.

,,Alena, you asked for my opinion and i gave it to you"

The brunette retorted, a small smile lingering on her lips. She was definitely amused by the young redhead.

Grumbling, said redhead went back to comparing the two dresses in the mirror, her lips curled into a frown that expressed great displeasure.

Seconds later, Natasha appeared behind her daughter, caressing the 15 year olds cheek.

,,Why the frown, детка свет (Baby light), it's Christmas"

She asked, rocking back and forth with her gently. Alena leaned into her Mom, shooting her a rather annoyed look.

,,Dunno which dress to wear. Ria says the green one's better but I'm really not sure"

The 15 year old complained, holding up both dresses after another. She didn't even know why this was such a difficult decision, but somehow, she was not able to decide for the life of her.

Nat cracked a small smirk, lightly tracing a smile up her daughter's cheek to cheer her up.

,,Cmon, cheer up, милая девушка (sweet girl), it's just a dress. The green one's fine"

She suggested, promptly taking the red dress from Alena and putting it back into the wardrobe. Green had always been more her colour anyways, if she was honest.

,,Finish up, маленький свет (little light), the sooner we arrive, the sooner everyone will leave"

Tasha encouraged before vanishing into the other room, probably to tell Maria and Wanda the same thing. Alena made a gesture of agreement.

Tony's parties were always elaborate, but Christmas and birthdays were always the worst. There were people there, Alena hadn't seen in her life, but for some reason, they remembered things about her childhood or told her how much she looked like her parents. It bored her, if she was honest.

,,Hopefully. Don't even know why Tony makes you go every year"

She sighed, loud enough for her complaint to reach the other room, where she slipped into just seconds later. Maria snorted, Wanda chuckled and even Nat smirked.

,,You know it well enough, детка свет (baby light)"

The latter shrugged while helping Maria pin up her hair.

,,я знаю (I know), still, it's just ridiculous. I've never been and I already know"

Alena sighed back, now examining her hair in the mirror. She chose to wear it down, leaving her naturally wavy, auburn hair in its natural form.

With a sceptic glance, she looked at her dress one last time, running her fingers down the fabric to smooth it out.

,,Alena, cmon, we're already late"

Maria stressed from the door, clapping her hands for the redhead to get a move on. Alena obeyed, flipping her hair over her shoulder before exiting the room with the others.

Two minutes later, Alena found herself surrounded by people who for some reason were dying to talk to her. Unfortunately for her it wasn't even about topics she was interested in, so she just smiled and nodded in hopes of being left alone.

This was Christmas day and all she did was stand around and grumble. The excitement of this being her first Stark Christmas party had long worn off, so now she just prayed that all those strangers she'd never met would just leave.

,,Mini Romanoff, whats wrong?"

Tony seemed to appear out of thin air. He had a smile on his face, although if Alena looked hard enough, she could tell it was forced.

,,Why do you throw these parties, Stank?"

She asked, her expression radiating genuine curiosity mixed with a hint of annoyance. The 15 year old tilted her head, resting her cold Glas against her cheek.

Stark shrugged before trying to get her out of the corner she'd been standing in all evening.

,,Kid, when you're rich, people expect this from you. They expect elaborate parties, big charity events, hell, even birthdays are such a big deal. Look, we're gonna celebrate when all those people have left, just the team. Til then ... maybe have some fun, huh"

He explained, signaling toasts to people as they made their way through the crowd. Alena looked at the billionaire, rolled her eyes and sighed:

,,Fine, you're right"

She scanned the room for a familiar face, until she found just that. Her patents had found a table and seemed to be chatting with some of their team members.

,,Merry Christmas, Tony"

,,Merry Christmas, Kid"

With that, Alena decided to pay her parents a visit. As she arrived, she promptly sat down on her fathers legs, as there was no more space at the table.

For the first time that evening, she managed to have fun. The 15 year old listened to her dad and Bucky talk about old war stories, had a heated discussion with Sam about how his wings weren't all that safe and how he should let her have a look to tune them up a little and watched Wanda mess with the people at the party by making their drinks float or other fun stuff.

Soon, the compound had cleared out, only leaving Alena, the og6, Maria, Wanda, Bucky and Fury behind. The tension had lightened and the room filled with genuine laughter and holiday spirit.

Alena was happy. She was forever grateful for a team like this, a family, if you will. No matter who she looked at in this room, she felt nothing but adoration for them. Sure, some people annoyed her from time to time, but still, she loved those people.

,,Merry Christmas, everyone"

She smiled and raised her glass, toasting it with her Mom as everyone mirrored her move.

,,Merry Christmas, Alena"
