The weekend is here once again but this time we have a family day planned. Dylan, Stephanie, and Josh are all going to be here with Kaira, Samuel and I.

Right now I prepping the meat as Kaira is making all the sides and Samuel playing video games in the living room. We pass the time by as Kaira and I tease each other while cooking up various foods especially since I have learned quite a bit from her.

"Flip the steak but tilt the pan to where you can bast it once flipping." Kaira sing songs a little while motioning with a finger while holding a knife that she has been using to chop up a pepper.

"I know what I am doing." I smirk.

"Really? Because that is looking a bit dry." Her eyes sparkle and then she glances down.

"Not at all. Pretty sure I have basted it plenty."

She huffs and rolls her eyes. "Not basted but made personalized dressing." She mutters extremely low I barely catch it but to where Samuel wouldn't hear even though he is wearing my gaming headphones.

I laugh. "You are the one not ready for the basting." I whisper in her ear.

Before she can retort back, I kiss her lips quickly then get back to cooking. As I flip and bast the meats, my mind rolls over some conversations we have held recently. Right now it is left up to Kaira on when or if we have a second child. My stance is I would love to have a large family with her.

The doorbell goes off and Kaira goes to answer it. I listen as Dylan and Stephanie walk in then Josh does a few mintues later.

"I got dessert." Josh exclaims while placing it on the counter.

"What is it?" I look over at the large box.

"A cake." He opens the lid and I see a large circle cake with berries on it. "Got it at the bakery down town. The lady there is friendly and makes amazing foods." His smirk tells more than his words making me chuckle.

"It smells so good in here." Dylan takes a breath in.

"That would be all Kaira's doing." I laugh.

"Not all since it looks like you're doing the meat and helped with the sides." She laughs.

"The only part really is the meat." I get back to it and Samuel walks over.

"How much longer until the food is ready?"

I smile to Samuel. "I am about to place all these on the plate to place on the table."

He goes and sits at the table picking his normal place as I start to remove each steak from the overly large skillet. Kaira and Stephanie places the sides on the table, having just finished as I put the steaks down.

"Please sit where ever you may like." Kaira nods to her parents.

They choose to sit next to each other as I take a seat next to Samuel. Kaira sits next to me while Josh takes a seat across from Samuel. The plates and bowls are passed around as we all fill our plates.

"So what is the plan for Thanksgiving?" Stephanie looks over to Kaira then Josh.

"I have work the day before and after." Josh shrugs.

"The Diner is closed on that day." Kaira adds in.

"I thought you would be open for all the ones that have the burned turkeys or such." Dylan laughs.

Kaira shakes her head lightly. "They go to the town over but I close it since I tried to be open two times that day but it would be so hectic people waiting outside just to get a table. It made me feel awful because my Diner isn't that large no more than fifteen tables and seeing so many hungry. We was open until two in the morning both times or my freezers just about running out of food. Then not to mention they were mad we didn't offer something at least similair to a feast they would have gotten made at their homes, so it was just easier to be off that day."

"So what did you do for the day you would be closed?" Dylan asks as he takes a bite from his steak.

"Friendsgiving of sorts." Kaira shrugs and Samuel nods.

"I would always pick up work and never make it in." Stephanie frowns.

"I couldn't make it in on time off either." Josh sighs.

"This year is going to be different though right?" Samuel pipes up.

"I would be honored if you guys could all make it to my house this year." Stephanie smiles and starts. "That is of course if you want to come and visit."

I look to Kaira and give her a slight smile letting her know it is her choice.

"Sure Mom." Kaira nods and looks over to them across from us.

We get to talking about different things and Kaira helps me to clean up the plates. Together we place them in the dishwasher and she gets the cake that Josh brought as I grab the smaller plates and clean silverware for it.

Just as we sit back at the table I laugh at Samuel's face while his cheeks are red. With a look to Kaira I could laugh but don't. Dylan and Stephanie had shared a quick peck on the lips. A sweet gesture that makes me happy for them as they are together once more.

"That is disgusting." Kaira gags.

"Now you know how I feel seeing you and Dad kiss." Samuel mumbles.

Laughter fills the room and then I stop choking on air.

"What?" I whisper and Samuel looks up to me.

"Dad."

My eyes burn and my heart patters.

Never did I think I would hear him call me that. With shaking legs from the happiness I didn't think expect to be so very much, my butt hits the chair.

Even if it makes me weak for being took down this means the world to me.

Samuel stands up and hugs me tight.

"I love you Dad."

"I love you too, Sammy." I smile and pat his back as we hug tight.

Sniffles catch my attention and I look up to see Kaira smiling as tears fall down her cheeks.
