Date: 19th March
Time: Hunger time
Place: Mess HallI head towards the mess hall, pavilion, whatever, where everyone was eating breakfast. I catch myself looking at the Hades cabin for a second. I was drawn to it for a moment... I wonder if Hades could be my parent. Appearance wise... it might make sense. My blonde hair was more faded and my skin, pale. Personality wise... I'm not that good with people; I'm pretty introverted, brooding and quiet. Mostly. Sometimes. I don't know.
But then Nico would be my brother and AWKWARRRD. Why you wonder? I won't remind you.But then again- it could be anyone. I love pranks and tricking people, and I run quite fast- Hermes? I adore the beach and I'm a natural swimmer. That's probably more of a skill than a Poseidon like trait though... And then I'm fairly smart and logical. I'm a skeptic. And reading is not just reading to me. Athena maybe?
I continue thinking of all the possibilities, mulling over my different traits; my love of music and archery; addiction to coke; attraction to colors; fascination of magic; interest of fire and making stuff; it's like I'm Divergent in the Godly way. Cool. I like being special. And weird. And awkward. Yeah.
I sit at the crowded Hermes table, next to Walton.
"Hey! You're up late," he notes.
"Hm? How late?" I ask him, not quite paying much attention.
"A few minutes," he shrugs.
"That's not so late," I grin and look down at my plate, and right then, a neat pyramid of crystal blue jello appears, the same color as my oh-so-fabulous eyes.
Walton smiles before returning to his cereal.
I finish eating quickly and look around. The other 13 sat in their groups. Lucky Ash and tall Haleigh were at their cabin tables. Silent Arthur sat at the corner of our table one seat away from Walton.
"Who will he be under?" I ask.
Walton shrugs. "Maybe Will, but Nico won't be enthusiastic about it."
"Is he ever enthusiastic when it comes to people?" I look behind me, to where Nico sat alone at the Hades table. He was stabbing his toast. Poor toast.
"Good point," Walton says, not noticing my lack of attention.
Nico suddenly looks up, right at me. I casually look away and turn back in front to see golden eyed Hope, one my fellow team members, smirking at me from opposite.
"What?" I ask slowly, frowning.
She only shakes her head silently.
After the place empties out a bit, I get up and decide to walk around the empty beach. I glance over my shoulder to see where the others went. They weren't exactly in their groups now, just talking with anyone and looking around.
I reach the area where the forest meets the beach and lean against a tree.
Suddenly, Nico creeps up on me and pokes my shoulder."Hey!" I start slightly. "Oh... it's you..." I say dully.
"You said there were two stories as to why you're here. What's the other?" He demands abruptly.
"The... oh, right. It's not important," I say casually.
"Spill," he says forcefully.
I raise my eyebrows at him. "You might not believe me."
"Can't be sure about that," he looks at me with a bored expression.
"Well... the other... we're not exactly reborns... we died somewhere else- we're from another world." Basically the opposite of you guys... I don't say that though. "We got a choice to return, but under specific conditions."
"Like aliens?"
"No," I say flatly. "Now choose what you want to believe."
"But which is the truth?"
"Well... both, in a way. One's just more believable."
Nico nods once, not quite convinced, and then he walks away. That was scary... for some stupid reason.
