~The Beginning of Life~

~ Chapter 27 ; Melissa the Vine Girl ~

Time: 5pm
Place: The Cabins
Date: May 31

I duck behind the Ares cabin as I see Katie leave the Demeter one. She looks quite angry. Behind her is a young boy, who can easily pass off as the Young Devil. He has fiery red hair and coal black eyes- well, the Devil might have the colours reversed; or the Devil might be Nico. The boy can't be older than twelve.

Standing next to the fire in the centre is Melissa Spencer, from Tyson's and Ella's group. From what I've seen, she probably chose the red button and her hater coincidentally happened to be Tyson.

Something looks different about her... She still has blue her eyes and her purple hair... Oh, her hair isn't purple anymore.
It's the colour of mustard and ketchup. Terrible combination. I mean visually, but by taste... nah that sucks too. Euch. Did mustard hear me?

Katie and the boy walk over to her.
I silently sneak closer to listen, though still keeping to the bloody cabin.

"Dan says it was an accident and that he didn't mean it," Katie tells Melissa wearily.

"I didn't mean it to be an accident," mumbles Dan.

Melissa glares at him.

Katie sighs. "Well, whatever, just... try and control your powers-"

"You can't control Chaos..."
Oooh so Dan is a son of some Chaos God...
"- and don't go near the Demeter cabin's plants until you can!" Katie storms off.
Ah so that's why Katie was involved.

Dan sighs and looks up at Melissa. "Your hair looked worse before, anyway."
Wow he's got guts.
Well everyone does.

"Well, what do you know about hair, spawn of Eris?" Melissa narrows her eyes at him.
Okay that was obvious... why'd she use it like a degrading title? For a lame fight.

I laugh silently and lose track of the conversation for a while. When I look back, the two of them are literally at each other's throats. Like- strangling each other.

Suddenly, Dan pushes Melissa towards the fire and she falls right in front of it, on her back, her hair nearly catching on fire. While she's stunned, Dan makes a run for it.
Melissa shakes her head and sits up.

She grits her teeth and thrusts her hand forward AND LASERS SHOOT FORWARD TO VAPORIZE NICO TO WELL NOT DEATH I HOPE-

Kidding, kidding.

A vine extends from the Demeter cabin behind her and wraps around Dan's ankle. He turns around at its touch, thus falling onto his butt and not scraping his face off... his butt is fine, chill you kids. Not his pants.
Maybe undies...

A green glowing thing appears above Melissa's head. It's blurry from my position. And from the light. It's probably a leaf... or some wheat... Rice Krispies? Yes, I am pretty close to it and I HAVE PERFECT EYESIGHT. I thinks it's a glowing green strand of wheat.

Melissa grins. "About time!"
She forgets about Dan, who has disappeared. Poor guy.

I walk over to Melissa.
"That's Demeter's, right?"

She nods. "Looks like I'm moving out."
