I'm shortsighted which means that things far away look pretty blurry, and I wear glasses most days so I can read road signs, the whiteboard in class, and generally see a lot clearer. I've been wearing glasses for five years now, and yet I still get asked the same stupid questions by people who have known me for years! It's like for some reason people who don't wear glasses just lose all common sense when it comes to the idea of glasses. And it aggravates me because I get asked the same questions by people that just don't make sense.
How many fingers am I holding up?
I'm short sighted, not blind. Plus if you're standing near me that defeats the whole point because I am SHORT-sighted for a reason- I can see things near me.
Why don't you wear your glasses all the time?
I am forgetful, I forget my glasses. Sometimes I don't feel like wearing them. I can still go about my life without them usually, things are just a little blurry.

Do I look like I care? Contrary to popular belief, glasses for people with sight problems are not just fashion statements, but have practical uses. Unlike people that like to wear glasses without lenses, I need my glasses to read things and see things far away and not to look aesthetic.
Uh this probably all sounds really petty but it just annoys me that people feel the need to ask stupid things when in most physics classes we learn about lenses at some point.
