Chapter 23

Scott held his head in his hands as he sat in the waiting room. Lydia and Stiles asleep in the chairs next to him

They had arrived at the hospital about 30 minutes ago. He and Lydia had sat in silence the whole way here. Scott felt dead inside. He felt empty because of Malia and Liam

He feels distressed, angry, and sad that Liam wasn't there. He wanted to strangle Kate for tricking them. Shit, he wanted to strangle himself for falling into the trap so easily. They should have gotten out of there as soon as they realized Liam wasn't there.

He missed him, he missed him so much.

Liam... mate Scott's alpha keened. He missed his scent. His hugs, his body. He missed his voice.

Tears welled up in Scott's eyes before he brushed them away roughly

Now is not the time. Be strong, be strong for your mate. Be strong for him! Fight for him. Don't you want to hold him again! Man up! The voice inside him yelled

Scott was pulled out his thoughts by a hand on his shoulder. Melissa stood before him. Scott stood up, looking down at her with a sad smile

She nodded sadly, pulling him close to her.

"She's alright, Scott. She was within an inch of her life, but she's doing better already. Her coyote heals her pretty fast huh?" Melissa chuckled to help lighten Scott's mood

Scott smiled, but said nothing. His mind wandering back to Liam.

Melissa pulled away with a sigh," You'll find him, Scott. You will." Melissa smiled, even though she wasn't so sure. She had to help reassure his mind.

Scott smiled lightly, nodding his head.

"You wanna wake these two up to go see her?" Melissa said, motioning to Stiles and Lydia

Scott nodded to his mother, moving too shake Stiles's face while his mom woke Lydia up

"Come on dude, you're drooling." Scott laughed

Liam spit to the floor as Kate punched him again.

"Wow... you're surprisingly tough." Kate said, punching him in the face again," No wonder Scott wants you."

Liam growled at the mention of Scott, receiving another blow

"Aww, what? Huh? What are you gonna do? You won't do anything, trapped down here. Tied up like some dog." Kate smiled snuggly, kicking Liam in the face

"He'll kill you." Liam growled, spitting blood from his mouth.

"He's going to murder you too, except in a different way, if you know what I'm saying." Kate winked

Liam looked at her with an angry glare," Why do you still need me if you're just planning to go find him right now?"

"I want to see the look on your face when  I drag him down here and tear him apart right in front of you. Since those idiot hunters can kill anybody to save their lives."

Liam's eyes teared up in fear," W-why?"

"Simple. He's destroyed my family, changed my brother and his daughter. Changed them forever. Ruined my family's life work in less than a decade. My family crumbled, at his hand."
