Finland (Tino Väinämöinen) x Reader

Bells jingled as the Christmas parade made its way down the street filled with onlookers and excited children. Tino fidgeted in his spot amongst the crowd and flexed his fingers in an attempt to rid the cold from his fingers. He looked over at his best friend (Y/N) and smiled fondly as she attempted to warm her hands up by blowing on them. "I have a heat pack if you want one" he stated, and she turned to look over at him. (Y/N) smiled happily and eagerly reached out her freezing hands "Please." Mathias popped his head around hers and smiled down at Tino "Can I have one too?" Tino nodded and searched throughout his backpack in search of two packets. He pulled out one with a soft frown and muttered, "I could have sworn I had more." He looked back at the expectant pair and sent them a small smile "I'm sorry, but I only have one." Mathias frowned slightly and shivered at a sudden blast of cold wind.

Tino watched helplessly as (Y/N) turned to Mathias with a shy expectant look "We could share, if you'd like." "Really?" Mathias questioned, smile brightening at her nod, "Thank you! (Y/N) you're the best!" A pretty pink blush decorated her features and Mathias eagerly beckoned for her to cuddle close to him "Your face is getting red. Come here so we can share warmth." The pink darkened and she silently nodded and cuddled into his warmth. Tino gripped his own heat pack and turned his attention on the Christmas parade once again. Throughout the parade, Tino would glance at the pair to see them wrapped up together in Mathias' large jacket. He'd watch from the sidelines as (Y/N) would bury herself in closer to Mathias and her ears would be tinted pink when he'd smile down at her. "Tino" Lukas called out, and he swivelled around to look at his Norwegian friend, "Are you okay? You seem out of it." Tino shook his head and sent Lukas an easy smile "I'm alright. It's just colder than I anticipated." Lukas silently observed him before nodding and returning his attention to the event.

The Christmas parade ended and the group made its way to their parked cars. (Y/N) walked next to Mathias and conversed with him happily. Mathias reciprocated her happy feelings with his own, both completely oblivious to Tino's inner turmoil. They arrived at the cars and (Y/N) bid Mathias goodbye before turning back to Tino "Ready for movie night?" Tino nodded and listened throughout the car ride as she voiced out her opinion on different movies the two could watch. "What do you think we should watch?" She asked, glancing over at him. Tino remained silent for a few minutes as he pondered his options and (Y/N) observed him from the passengers seat. After her car accident, Tino had been the first one by her side to help her recover. However, she failed to recover her memory after the accident and she could tell Tino was hiding some information from her.

She faintly recalled him, but she couldn't place what their relationship had been before. "Tino" she whispered. He glanced at her with a soft smile before looking once again at the road "Hmm? Is something wrong?" "Were we really just friends before the accident?" She asked, watching him carefully for signs of a potential lie. Tino kept his gaze focused on the road and tried to appear his usual calm and friendly self. He pushed back his memories of them cuddling together on the couch, of their first kiss, and of the night he had proposed to her. "Yeah. Just friends" he sent her another small smile and watched her relax in her seat. He didn't have the heart to tell her about what they had been before, not when he had seen the way she had looked at Mathias after her accident. He didn't miss the way she would reach out for Mathias first, or the way she liked being close to Mathias in her times of distress.

Tino shook his head and cleared his thoughts from the bad memories. "I'm fine with any movie you want to watch" he stated, answering her original question. She startled at the response before sighing softly "Okay." They arrived at his house and rushed inside to escape the cold from outside. Tino busied himself in the kitchen with making popcorn and hot chocolate as (Y/N) searched for a movie of her choice. They eventually settled on the couch and she cuddled into him as the movie started. Tino wrapped a protective arm around her and ignored the heavy weight in his chest.

Notes:

Prompt: Helplessness

Both are human here

Matthias is oblivious to her feelings or else he'd quickly reject her

I know Matthias is always the one stealing the lover, but he's my favourite Nordic so I use him often

I hope you enjoyed this

Next is Poland
