Delicious smells wafted through the air from the kitchen and into the comfort of the living room. (Y/N) sighed in anticipation as she closed her book for the fourteenth time to peek her head into the kitchen "Gil, do you need any help?" He turned to look at her with his usual confident smile and bright ruby red eyes "I'm fine. This dinner is going to be awesome and everyone will love it." She laughed lightly and pulled him into a quick embrace "I'm going to go get ready." He looked her over with adoring eyes "I think the pyjamas look fabulous on you." A small smile formed on her face as she walked toward the stairs to her room "I know you do, but I'm sure your family wouldn't appreciate the casual attire for a dinner, especially Roderich." Her smile grew in amusement at the muttering of curses directed toward Roderich and she made her way to her room to change into proper attire. It took her twenty minutes to decide on an outfit and make herself look presentable for their guests. 

She gradually made her way down the stairs to notice her boyfriend of one year passed out on the couch with his light blue apron messed up. Despite her own nervousness about the situation, (Y/N) placed a blanket over his sleeping form and watched with a smile as he snuggled in closer to the warmth. She finished cleaning up the mess in the kitchen just as Gil woke up from his afternoon nap. He beckoned her over to the couch and she curled up into him "You did good today." He opened his mouth to say a dismissive comment, but paused and leaned back into the couch as he wrapped his arms around her "Thank you." He paused to bask in the serenity of the moment before shifting to get a better look at her face "Are you ready to meet my awesome family? Sadly Roderich is part of the package." 

She laughed at the subtle jab and snuggled in closer to him "I'm nervous. I'm scared of what Ludwig will think about me. He's the most important person in your life, and I haven't been able to meet him because he's been overseas. I don't want to screw this up and make you hate me." Gil rolled his eyes and placed a kiss on her cheek before pulling away with his typical bright smile "First of all, they'll all love you because you're my girlfriend. And second of all, there's no need to worry. I'll never hate you." "Thank you" she whispered, placing a gentle kiss on his lips.

A knock on the door broke them apart and (Y/N) glanced at the clock. 'Right on time' she mused to herself, recalling Gil mentioning Ludwig's need to be on time. Gil threw open the door and smiled happily at his family members "Welcome!" (Y/N) recognized the family members from photos and she watched fondly as Gil ran over to Ludwig and pulled him into a tight hug "Lud!" Ludwig sighed with a small small and enveloped his brother in an equally as tight hug "Hello Bruder." The rest of the family turned to her and she waved politely "It's nice to meet you guys. I'm (Y/N)." Roderich stepped forward and shook her hand "Roderich Edelstein." His purple eyes seemed warm and inviting, contrary to how Gil described his cousin. She shook his hand in return as Elizabeta came over to introduce herself "Elizabeta Héderváry. I'm sure our lovely Gil here has complained about me often." 

(Y/N) laughed and shook her head "No not really. I've head him complain a few times, but most of his complaints are about Roderich." Roderich looked at Gil with a look of hurt, before covering it with his usual haughty expression. "Basch and this is my sister Lili" Basch explained, standing forward and nodding in greeting. Lili enveloped her in a tight hug "It's nice to meet you! Gil hasn't stopped talking about you!" "Oh?" "Yeah, you're all he talks about" Roderich added, and she looked over at Gil to notice reddening cheeks. "Thank you for that information" she stated, and the last family member introduced himself. "I'm Ludwig. His brother" he stated, and she smiled up at him "It's nice to finally meet you Ludwig. Gil has mentioned you a lot." Ludwig nodded with a small smile "The same goes for you." "All good things I hope." A small snort escaped him "As far as I'm concerned, they've all been good things." Gil captured the attention of the room "I think it's time we all go have the dinner I spent hours making." Roderich made a brief comment about Gil's manners and the family followed Gil into the dining room to enjoy a nice dinner.

Several hours later after they'd left, (Y/N) snuggled into Gil's side "Gil." "Hmm?" "You're family is a bit weird" she began, and sighed happily "It was really fun. I loved meeting them."

Gil seems to like he knows how to cook, especially German food, so I thought I'd make him the chef

Ludwig was in the army overseas 

There was going to be a dinner scene, but I ran out of space so I improvised toward the end

I don't know why but Gil literally only gets fluff and I don't know why but I can't write angst with him.
