Turkey (Sadik Adnan) x Reader

Gentle wind caressed her skin as she made her way through the dark house in search of her friend. Sweat rolled down the side of her face as the erratic beating of her heart began to slow with each of her careful steps. She peeked her head into the small room to gaze upon the sleeping form of her companion "Sadik?" Her voice came out a gentle whisper in fear of something she couldn't quite identify. He mumbled something she didn't understand and turned to look at her "Hmm?" The fear plaguing her chest slowly disappeared as she stared at his brown eyes illuminated by the soft glow from the the lamp in his room. "Can I stay with you tonight?" He stared at her for a moment as a subtle blush adorned his cheeks before he nodded "Nightmare again?"

She moved closer to him as he shifted the blankets around to make room for her "Yeah. The same one again." "Do you need to talk about it?" He asked, and she hesitated at the clear fatigue present in his voice. (Y/N) took her spot under the wool blanket and snuggled in closer to bask in her friend's body heat "Do you think we'll ever get away from him?" Sadik hummed in thought as he wrapped his arms around her waist to pull her closer. "We will" he stated, and (Y/N) could feel him protectively tightening his grip around her waist "I'll keep you safe from him and we'll get away from here." The reassurance calmed her down significantly and she hummed in affirmation. She trusted him to follow through with his statement. She knew it was only a matter of time until they managed to escape and become their own nations.

Comfortable silence loomed over them and she shifted to be closer to him. She listened as his breathing began to even out and his heart began to beat at a steady pace. She tightened her grip on his shirt and tried to focus entirely on his steady breathing. The unsettling dream drew her towards her friend for comfort and reassurance. He shifted and opened his eyes to stare sleepily at her "You're still awake?" "I can't help it" she stated, "I'm still worried." He moved a bit more to get a better look at her in the dim light "Worried? Don't you mean scared?" "Both" she replied, and he remained silent to watch her in mild confusion. "You never told me what you're recurring nightmare is" he stated, an expectant tone in his words. (Y/N) moved to grip his hand tightly in hers, missing the small blush on his cheeks "It's about you." He raised a curious eyebrow "How can a dream with me in it be bad?" She laughed lightly at his attempt to lighten the situation.

She turned her gaze up to meet his eyes "Something bad happens to you every time. The way you get hurt changes all the time, but in the end you're always in pain and dying right in front of me. It's scary to watch you die before me every night. I'm worried it'll become true." "It won't" he replied easily, and she quickly shook her head to dismiss the casual comment. "It might. Every time you get hurt it's because of that man. You're too stubborn and prideful and it makes him mad and he hurts you. Even outside of my nightmares, I can see how your prideful nature makes him upset. One day he might...." She finished, letting the implication float throughout the air.

Sadik chuckled "As if he could ever beat me." "Sadik." He shook his head and sent her a confident, albeit tired, smile "I'm extremely strong. No one can beat me." "But then why did he win?" She asked, and he paused for a moment. "I didn't lose" he nodded to himself, "I just wasn't at my best at the time. You know, because of the revolts." She remained silent for a moment as he put out excuses for his loss before a light chuckle escaped her "Okay." He paused and turned to look at her with a fond smile "Soon we'll get out of here. I promise." "I believe you" she mumbled, and pulled him close to snuggle into his warmth again. He enveloped her in a warm embrace and the two gradually fell into a comfortable slumber.

Bickering voices floated throughout the halls of her house and (Y/N) made her way towards the sound. She quietly opened the door to the living room and peeked her head in. Sadik stood up tall with an irritated look in his eyes as the American nation lounged carelessly with crumbs all over the ground. "Can't you just get up and clean it?" Sadik asked, and Alfred visibly frowned "But I'm a guest." (Y/N) watched with slight fondness from the sidelines as the two continued to argue over the crumbs littering the ground.

Notes:

Both are teenagers in the beginning and it's set in old times

Wind is from one of the open windows in the hallway

This isn't based on any historical event

I made this one extra cheesy for fun
