North Italy (Feliciano Vargas) x Reader

Feliciano leaned against the countertop and watched the pasta boil with a somber expression. The emotion portrayed on the Italian's face didn't fit his usual demeanour. His friends worried about him, especially when his love for pasta diminished significantly. Memories plagued his mind at the image of the familiar scene. He closed his eyes and relished in the once forgotten experiences.

--------

A melody flowed throughout the kitchen. Feliciano peeked into the kitchen with a bright smile forming at the sight placed before him. His lover stood in front of the boiling pot filled with pasta humming and swaying to the song. She remained focused solely on her task and failed to notice his presence. He wrapped an arm around her waist and placed a gentle kiss on her temple "Ciao bella." She jumped in his hold. She frowned and pushed him away lightly "Don't scare me like that Feli." His smile merely broadened "I can't help, but want to hold you." She rolled her eyes as pink dusted her cheeks.

He leaned against the counter to observe her cooking. Despite his love for pasta, he enjoyed watching her more than making it. Comfortable silence loomed over them. Feliciano found himself enjoying the simple moments the two shared. He snapped out of his daydreaming when she turned around with a plate of fresh pasta "Here's your plate Feli." He placed a grateful kiss upon her lips and set his plate down on the table. He waited for her to take her place, and soon the dinner began.

--------

A relationship between a nation personification and a human were rare. Feliciano watched her with careful eyes and he couldn't help the feeling of love that encompassed his entire being. He loved when her hair would become messy in the wind, he loved the way her eyes shone brightly when she appeared enamoured by the scenery, but he especially loved her personality. He fiddled with the box in his jacket as he remained by her side during their walk through the streets of Florence. He knew about the problems that would arise, but he didn't care. The one thing he cared about was her. She turned to look at him when he stopped walking "Is something wrong Feliciano?" He shook his head.

She blinked curiously and he moved toward her. He placed a gentle kiss on her lips "I love you." A bright smile blossomed on her face and she gripped his left hand "I love you too." He bent down on one knee and produced the box "Will you marry me (Y/N)?" Tears formed in her eyes and she nodded excitedly. He grinned and placed the ring on her finger "I'll love you forever (Y/N)." She buried her face in his chest and murmured a response back. He didn't hear her, but he didn't care. He knew she loved him too.

--------

The war had started and Feliciano remained by Ludwig's side. (Y/N) had joined the military and Feliciano kept a close eye on her. He immediately convinced Ludwig to place her in a position of power in order to keep an eye on her. She conversed with the male generals and he watched her in admiration. Women typically didn't gain the respect of males, but she had. Her tactics had gained them land and given them victories. He knew she didn't agree with the ideology. He knew she was only there because of him. A soldier ran into the camp "The Allies are closing in on us." The troops sprung into action and Feliciano watched in horror as (Y/N) followed them. The battle against the Allies had been lost. Feliciano collapsed on the wet ground and sobbed as he held her body tightly against him. His sobbing filled the air. Ludwig watched his friend in worry but remained to the side. He knew Feliciano would blame him for her death. Feliciano did blame him. He knew it wasn't his fault, but he needed to put the blame on someone. He needed to put his grief somewhere.

---------

Tears flowed down his cheeks and he snapped out of his daydreaming at the sound of the doorbell. He opened the door to greet the visitor but paused. There she stood. She looked the same as she had before. He blinked in surprise. He recalled Francis telling him about the reincarnation of Jeanne D'Arc, but he had never believed it. She looked up at him with a shy smile "Excuse me, do you have any sugar?"

Author's Note:

I hope you enjoyed the chapter.

I'm planning on doing a Sweden update, does anyone know how to do his accent? Cause I don't want to screw it up. From what I've gathered from other stories, it's just that he doesn't pronounce vowels.

The next one is Japan.
