Lithuania (Toris Laurinaitis) x Reader

Peaceful silence was disturbed by the sound of a sniffle followed by the sound of crying. Toris gently placed the remote on the wooden table and made his way over to the baby room. He opened the light to gaze down at the sniffling child with worried eyes. He picked up his daughter and rocked her gently in his arms. "What's wrong?" He said in a soft tone, continuing his rocking motion as her tears gradually disappeared. He gingerly exited the room and made his way over to the kitchen with his teary eyed daughter in his arms. "Are you hungry?" He asked, and shook the bottle of milk in front of her to watch her reaction. He smiled when she reached her chubby hands out and made grabbing motions towards the bottle. "Alright. Give me a minute" he stated, and laughed lightly at the subtle frown on her face.

He finished the preparations for her bottle and adjusted himself on the couch to make the both of them comfortable. He watched in silent adoration as his daughter began to drink the milk. "I never imagined I'd be experiencing this" he mumbled softly to himself, a feeling of content and happiness swirling pleasantly around his chest. The pair remained in comfortable silence until his daughter finished with her drink. He discarded the bottle in the sink to be washed later and began to pat his daughters back. The serenity of the moment was interrupted by the loud ringing of his cellphone. Immediately his daughter began to tear up at the unexpected loud noise. He hummed a gentle tune in an effort to calm her down as he picked up the phone. "Hello?" He asked, unable to check the caller ID before answering the phone. A few random noises came through the phone and Toris pulled away to quickly glance at the ID.

A picture of his wife showed up on the screen and he brought the phone back to his ear. "Hello?" He tried again, aware of the loud environment she worked in. "Hi!" She replied, sounding a bit short of breath "Sorry for not answering the first time. It's a bit hectic here." He chuckled at her comment and returned to trying to burp his daughter "I'm aware. How long until you get home?" (Y/N) hummed in thought as people passed by her in a rush "Earliest two hours. Latest four hours." He huffed in irritation at the long work hours and she snorted at the unexpected sound "What's wrong Toris?" A faint blush decorated his cheeks and he felt glad she couldn't see it "I'd just prefer if you were home. Our daughter misses you." "Tell her that I miss her too" (Y/N) replied, sounding more energetic "I'll leave as soon as I can." "Ok" he whispered into the phone, and his daughter began to fuss in his arms "Get home safe." "Of course I will!" She replied, and he could hear the faint sound of her moving "I've got to go now though. I'll see you soon." "I know" he stated, and smiled softly "I love you." She laughed lightly and smiled "I love you too Toris. Be home soon."

She hung up the phone and Toris placed his own cellphone in the back of his pocket before turning to attend properly to his daughter. She smiled when his attention was fully focused on her and he smiled back at the cute sight. He placed her down gently on the carpet and handed her some of her toys. Time passed by as she played with her toys and as he talked to her about different things. He wasn't sure if just talking would help her learn how to speak, but he figured it was better than just sitting in silence watching her play.

Toris glanced at the clock and took note that an hour and a half had passed since his call with (Y/N). The sound of the door opening alerted him and his daughter babbled in surprise and excitement. He scooped her up and walked over into the main entry way to smile at his wife. She looked exhausted, but life seemed to return to her face at the sight of the two people she loved most "I'm home." Toris handed off his daughter with a smile "You came earlier than you said." She raised a questioning eyebrow "Is that bad?" He chuckled and pulled the two of them into a hug "Not at all."

He pulled away with a faint blush and she laughed at the sign of embarrassment "Toris we've been married for five years and we have a kid." The pink darkened at the comment and he glanced away in embarrassment "I can't help it." His daughter stole both of their attentions as she called out for him and made grabbing motions towards him. (Y/N) frowned "Why don't you want to stay with me?" Their daughter shook her head "Dada!" (Y/N) paused "Did she just?" Toris smiled and pulled his daughter into his arms "I win."
