Prussia (Gilbert Beilschmidt) x Reader

She watched the scenery pass by as the train made its way to Paris, France. (Y/N) had decided to take an impromptu trip around Europe and found herself on a train with a small bag filled with clothes and enough money to survive for a few weeks. Someone took a seat in the seat opposite of her and (Y/N) looked away from the window curiously. He had short silver hair a shade or two darker than his pale skin. He looked up at her with a friendly smile "I guess we're seat partners." She smiled in return "I guess so. My name is (Y/N)." He easily settled into his seat "The names Gilbert. Where are you headed?" She glanced out the window momentarily before turning her attention once again to the man in front of her "Paris." His smile grew at the familiar name "I'm going there too." (Y/N) blinked in surprise.

The train had six different destinations, and the fact that the stranger was traveling to the same place made it seem like fate. 'Or it could just be a coincidence' she thought. Her curiosity got the better of her and she looked over at him "Why are you going to Paris? If it's okay to ask." He didn't appear bothered by her personal question. He grinned as he made himself more comfortable in his seat "I'm visiting a friend of mine. We haven't seen each other in a few months." She smiled softly "So its a reunion between friends." He nodded before looking over at her with equally curious eyes "Why are you heading to Paris?" "A spontaneous trip around Europe" she explained, wondering if this really was the right decision.

Gilbert watched her carefully. He wondered how to ask her a question without being to forward or aggressive. 'Manners be damned' he thought before tapping her shoulder. She met his eyes and he sent her a soft smile "Do you have anywhere to stay?" She froze. Should she tell a complete stranger that she didn't have anywhere to stay? Should she tell him and risk being captured? "I don't" she stated, albeit warily. He frowned "What were you planning on doing then?" "I was just going to stop at a motel. I hope they have those in Paris" she said, feeling a need to explain herself. He gave off the image of a stern parental figure at the moment. "Would you like to stay at my friend's spare house?" He asked, keeping his tone friendly. He didn't want to scare her off.

She watched him carefully. He seemed friendly enough. "Spare house?" She questioned, "As in I would be alone?" He nodded. She nodded with a small smile "If it's alright with your friend. Thank you." His grin returned to his face "It's no problem. I'm always willing to help a person in need." She chuckled and allowed him to inform his friend. She stared out the window once again. Gilbert smiled at the text "He said you can stay. He'll buy some groceries for you too." She turned back to Gilbert with worry in her eyes "He doesn't have to. I can pay for my food." Gilbert rolled his eyes "It's no problem. The dude's loaded." "That doesn't change anything. I'd feel bad." "He'll feel bad if you don't accept his help." She shut her mouth immediately. Gilbert smiled in victory.

The two played 20 questions to pass the time and to get to know each other better. She felt calmer around Gilbert and Gilbert felt comfortable around her. They arrived at the train station and he eagerly led her to meet his friend. She decided to not comment on him grabbing her hand. Gilbert dragged her to a male with wavy blonde hair and blue/violet eyes "This is Francis. Francis this is (Y/N)." "It's a pleasure to meet you mademoiselle" Francis greeted, placing a soft kiss on her hand. She smiled at him "It's a pleasure as well. Thank you for letting me stay." Gilbert took one of her bags as Francis continued to talk "I have no problem at all with it, and how could I let my dear friend Gilbert down when he insisted so much?" Gilbert sent a soft glare at Francis as (Y/N) watched him from the corner of her eye.

They arrived at the spare house and the males helped her set up. She turned to them with a soft smile "How can I thank you guys?" Francis pushed Gilbert forward "Why don't you allow Gilbert to show you around Paris?" "Wouldn't that be a favour for me?" Francis smiled knowingly "Trust me. It's a favour for him." (Y/N) nodded as Gilbert's cheeks grew pink. Francis bid them goodbye and the two watched his retreating form. Gilbert placed a hand in front of her "Shall we begin your tour?" She chuckled and nodded, placing her hand in his "Thank you Gilbert." He merely hummed in acknowledgment. The two spent their evening in Paris together.

Notes

I understand it was dumb of her to trust a complete stranger she met, but it's for the plot and I didn't know how else to get them together.

20 questions (which I'm sure most people know about) is basically you ask a question, they answer, and then repeat while taking turns.

I've always wanted to go on a spontaneous trip around Europe (or really the world) so it's loosely based off that.

Prompt Word: Continental.

Hope you enjoyed this.

Next one is England.
