Naruto x Fem Reader- Birthday

You yawned, glancing at the clock in boredom, only to find it was only five minutes since the last time you had checked. Which meant that Naruto was ten minutes late. You groaned, resting your head in your arms as you cursed him silently. That knucklehead probably forgot to set his alarm or something. Either that or he'd finally been corrupted by Kakashi. If he showed up with a stupid excuse then you'll probably kill the idiot.

After all, why the hell would he tell you to meet him at Ichiraku's on your birthday, only to not turn up?

A chuckling sound caused you to look up, only to be greeted by the smiling face of Teuchi as he observed your silent grumbling, clearly amused. You scowled slightly, not particularly understanding what was amusing in your impatience, only for him to say:

"Waiting for Naruto?"

You nodded, raising your eyebrow slightly as you tried to figure out how he knew, only to remember that, in hindsight, it is blatantly obvious. Only he would designate Ichiraku ramen as the meeting place.

Not that you were complaining. Their ramen was amazing.

You stretched, mind wandering randomly as time ticked by. You remembered the way his whiskered face had stretched wide into that infectious, beaming grin that always made your heart flutter. The way his voice had sounded excited to the point that it was amusing as he had told you to wait for him here. The way he had somehow managed to grin wider (even though that shouldn't have been possible) before pulling you into one of his warm hugs that you loved, practically jumping in joy before he ran off, waving at you whilst shouting to not forget. You smiled fondly at the memory, before the sound of a voice echoed in the air, causing you to glance up and sure enough, standing in all his orange and yellow glory that was blinding to many people when combined with his sunny personality, was your boyfriend:

"[NAME]-CHAN!"

You raised your eyebrow at him as he ordered ramen for the two of you before plopping into the seat beside you, bowing his head low as began to apologise profusely:

"Sorry, [Name]-chan! I really didn't mean to be late but picking it up from Ino took longer than I thought and I lost track of time and I'mreallysorry and here Iloveyouhappybirthday!"

His hand came flying in front of your face causing you to blink in surprise only to blink again as the sight of a bouquet of flowers met your eyes. It was a bouquet of [favourite flower]. But...how did he know your favourite flower? You raised your eyebrow at him, eyes questioning as you took the flowers carefully. He blushed, scratching his hair uncomfortably as he tried to avoid looking at you, murmering:

"Well I wanted to get you ramen but Sakura-chan said that wouldn't be a good present so she told me to go to Ino and get some of your favourite flowers, believe it!"

Your face softened into a smile at his earnestness, as you leaned over and pressed a kiss to his whiskered cheeks before pulling back with a bright smile that could rival his, as you exclaimed:

"Thank you! I love them."

He stared for a few moments, before breaking out into a grin, before stating:

"Now for the best part! The ramen!"

You laughed slightly as he began to eat his ramen with the gusto of a starving man, before seperating your own chopsticks and beggining to eat the admittedly delicious ramen, a small smile embeded on your face.

For with him, everything is better.
