Sasori x Fem Reader!

Dedicated to TaichouCoconut, because they're awesome. And, why not?

———————————————————-

You gasped, jolting awake with a start as the familiar nausea hit you, running towards the bathroom in order to regurgitate whatever is desiring freedom from the confines of your stomach, Sasori's brown eyes looking up from his puppet to watch your movement, a slight hint of worry hidden among them. You knelt over the toilet, cursing morning sickness as you felt your insides drain through your mouth, a slight whimper escaping.

A long time later you emerged from the bathroom, your head throbbing, stomach empty and a feeling of fatigue overwhelming you as you made your way back to the bed, only to find a serving of medicinal plants that help ease fatigue and morning sickness sitting beside it in a cup for you, causing you to glance at Sasori, a smile on your face at the gesture whilst he merely continued to work on his puppet, his voice commanding as he spoke:

"Drink it. It will ease the pain."

You complied, sitting on the bed as you drank, relishing in the way the pain ebbed away as your smile grew. He cared. He just didn't want to openly state how worried he was, or how much he loved you. Which was fine, for as long as you knew that fact, then you were able to decipher his emotions with leisure.

And you were happy. For you loved eachother- he had accepted what he had once despised for you. And if that wasn't something worth rejoicing over, then you don't know what is. You felt your eyes drift shut, contentment wafting through you as you slowly fell asleep. Sasori smiled almost visibly (not quite visible, but very close) at the sight of you appearing so serene, stroking a hand through your hair before he left to the leaders office, both of you feeling that nothing could go wrong.

Oh, if only it were so.

————————————————————————————-

A feeling of bad omen hung in the air when you opened your eyes, but you couldn't place it. And it was disconcerting. Your eyes scanned the room, trying to place what this strangefeeling of unease came from, only to jolt as Sasori entered the room, his face cold, signalling that he had returned from the leaders office. You stood, your head tilted slightly as you watched him gather supplies, your voice portraying confusion:

"Sasori...?"

He continued with his preparation, his reply uninterested and bored as he spoke:

"The brat and I are being sent after the Ichibi."

You felt your mouth go dry for reasons you don't understand, your heart rate increasing slowly at the answer. This mission was bad. You don't know why but it gave you a horrible feeling in the pit of your stomach.

And you didn't like it. You didn't like it at all.

It felt terrifying- as though you were going to lose something important to you; as though the normality of your life would be torn to shreds very soon.

But you didn't know why. And the prospect of this unknown threat was terrifying. It was like being thrown into a dark room filled with starved hyenas and sheep- you didn't know what was going to happen. You didn't know whether it was a hyena or a sheep. You couldn't see, you couldn't hear, you couldn't tell what was going to happen and could do nothing but sit in the dark and pray for the best.

And you hated the fact that you couldn't hide your fear. You hated the fact that Sasori could immediatley pick up on the disruption in your chakra. He could see your fear, it was obvious that you were worried. You hated it.

But he didn't. Your worry was touching- heart warming that you loved him so much. So he wrapped his arms around you, capturing your lips in a chaste kiss that you returned, before pulling away and his brown eyes gentle as they met yours, his voice unnusually soft as he spoke:

"Once this mission is over, we shall leave and start our family somewhere peaceful. We will have an eternity together, remember that."

You smiled, your head going to reast against his shoulder as you smiled, your mind dancing through various images of this time, your worries ebbing away slightly as your voice came out warm and loving:

"I will."

But it never happened.

———————————————————

You startled, your eyes widening as you took in the battered state of Deidara as he stood before you, your eyes frantically searching for Sasori who should have been standing there with him, only to feel your heart panic at the discovery that he wasn't there. Why? Sasori is never late. He hates being late. You felt your mouth dry up as you stared at Deidara, your expression begging for an answer as he shuffled slightly, guilt, regret and sadness plastered in his body language and facial expression, causing your painc to increase rapidly at what it could insinuate. After what felt like years, he finally spoke, his voice unnaturally soft, a deep sadness among it as he confirmed your darkest fears:

"Danna.. he- he won't be coming back, un..."

You swallowed, your body trembling slightly as it became hard to breathe, your lungs faltering as your heart screamed, frantically battering against your ribcage in a desire to escape, to not be standing here right now. You refused to believe it, desperately denying it until the last second rendered you unable to deny it anymore, as everything you loved was torn from your grasp by this agonising revelation you had feared would come:

"Danna is dead, un...."

You felt your heart shudder to standstill, your mouth opening but no sound escaping as you stared at nothing, your eyes wide and unseeing as his words echoed through your head.

Sasori... dead?

No. He can't die. He promised that you would be together for eternity. He can't die. He can't. He just can't.

But... there is no trace of lie. Which means, it is true.

Oh god. Oh god, no. He can't be dead. He can't leave you and your child.

But he did. He's dead. Gone.

"We will spend an eternity together."

Lies. He isn't here anymore.

"I promise. We have forever."

You will never see him again. You will never see him smile as he holds your child. Never.

He's gone. Forever.

You trembling increased violently as a scream tore through the air, a chorus of agony, mourning and sorrow echoing through the air as tears ripped free from your eyes, fighting their way down your cheeks as you collapsed to the floor, your arms clutching your stomach as you cried. The tears fell unremmitingly as you cry, your sorrow overflowing through your tears.

You cry for the man who's love you will never feel again. You cry for the smile that you will never see again. You cry for the voice that you will never hear again. You cry for your child that will never meet their father. You cry for Sasori and the dream that was cruely torn from the two of you. You cry for the love that was stolen from you by death. Your voice was weak as you cried, a painful exclamation to someone who would never hear it, a desperate plea to ears that are now deaf to the world:

"B-baka.... A-an eternity without you is a curse........"

Sad oneshot. Sad...... I killed Sasori and left reader-chan despairing and pregnant. Wonderful. And to think I hate tragedy..... Oh well. I hope you liked it, because reader-chan and Sasori certainly didn't! *Insert evil laughter here* He's slightly OOC, but I wanted him to be tender in their last moments together.
