Sying started to laugh.

"A Rank SSS male god? Look, I hate to break it to you, but if you've met one, you'll be joining me in here."

Her expression turned serious.

"What happened to me was an accident. Before we're given a transmigration mission, they usually do a brief estimate of the male god's rank. They thought it was only a Rank A, at most a Rank S. I have a lot of experience under my belt, and I also wanted to increase my salary, so I accepted. It was probably the stupidest thing I've ever done. A Rank SS male god..."

Her gaze turned distant. "Those monsters...they aren't human at all."

Song Jia paused. She focused on the most important point.

"A salary raise?"

Sying nodded her head. "It's a new system in our department. Starting last year, our salary would directly depend on the rank of the male god you would encounter. Apparently, our salary doubles once we get a mission with a Rank S male god."

"Then, what happens when you get a mission with a Rank SS male god?!"

"It triples. And if you ever meet a Rank SSS, your salary would directly be increased fourfold." Sying started to laugh. "886, is this why you lied about meeting a Rank SSS male god? Have you forgotten that our boss is a high-level A.I.? He would never believe you..."

Crack!

In front of Sying's stunned eyes, Song Jia directly broke the card that served as her I.D.

Song Jia took a deep breath and calmed herself down.

"You called a Rank SS male god a monster...why do you say that?"

According to her own experiences, although male gods could indeed be monstrous at times, one couldn't completely say that they were monsters.

Of course, Song Jia thought that maybe that was how she felt since the male god had never behaved like a 'monster' to her.

"Because they're monsters. I don't mean they're monsters because they do evil deeds. A male god is a monster because they have overwhelming power. They shouldn't be allowed to be born because their whole existence is simply a cheat."

Sying shook her head. "The Rank SS male god that I saw...there was absolutely nobody that could stop him. Their existence could even drive someone to the brink of hopelessness. Without any effort, without experiencing difficulties, everything just falls into their lap. Even if they didn't want it, even if they didn't need it...the gears of fate would still favor them.

"Of course, male gods could also do evil deeds, but none of us are in a position to judge them for it, aren't we?"

Song Jia frowned. Seeing her expression, Sying tapped her head.

"886, think about it. Male gods, they're like deities to us. Think about the history of the gods we worship. They can kill innocents, the 'enemies' of their followers, and we'd think they're still righteous. The concept of evil and good doesn't exist for them, simply because they're powerful. Power beats all.

"Even our presidents and war heroes have led wars over enemy countries because they have the ability to do so, and their people and the annals of history would never portray them as 'evil,' mainly because of the power they hold. Even humans are like that, aren't they? We slaughter pigs and cows, ants and other insects. Do we ever think we're evil because of that? No. Simply because they're too insignificant, too unimportant. Simply because we're much more powerful than them."

Sying's eyes shone with a mad light. She leaned forward, words spilling out of her mouth with increasing momentum.

"I think the male gods are like that. They're monsters because they're much more powerful than us. They don't mind killing several people, because to them, we're 'ants.' Are they evil because of that? Do we think we're evil for killing insects and bugs that we despise or fear? 886, it's just a matter of perspective. I mean, if you think about it, there would always be a higher predator in the food chain..."

"Sying."

Song Jia gently touched the girl's arm, stopping her flood of words.

"Why don't we take a walk around the room while we talk?"

...

After Sying had calmed down from her mania, Song Jia decided to go home for a while to organize her thoughts.

During her interplanetary travel towards Planet Anjing, Song Jia thought deeply about Sying's words.

Their salary would directly depend on the ranking of the male god that they would face...

If she had indeed faced a Rank SSS male god in her past missions, that meant her salary should have increased fourfold. Song Jia multiplied her basic salary inside her head, and her eyes widened at the amount she had estimated.

Never mind purchasing several pairs of anti-gravity boots, even if she bought several of Hua's legendary beauty products, this grandma still wouldn't become broke!

"I should demand for my money when I return..."

Despite Sying's doubt, Song Jia was certain that in all of her missions, she was truly dealing with Rank SSS male gods.

But why is it that a newly licensed transmigrator like her was entrusted with such a difficult mission? From what she had learned, the difference of rankings between male gods weren't just one or two levels, especially once you get to the Rank S.

Rank S male gods and Rank SS male gods might only have a difference of one letter, but the gap between the two of them was wide, even bigger than the gap between Rank S and Rank A.

"Then, doesn't that mean that in all of my missions, I was dealing with a dangerous existence this whole time? The speaker at the seminar told us to run far away if we encounter a high ranking male god..."

Song Jia had always felt that Nova didn't like her, but this was the ultimate proof.

More importantly, how could he not tell her about the salary raise?!

That was just pure evil.

Maybe that was why humanity versus artificial intelligence wars became so popular in fiction. It was because A.I. bosses withheld their employees' salary, and humanity finally waged war against them.

On the window of the spacecraft, Song Jia watched as they passed by Fengfu, the capital planet of Yujinxiang. If she managed to get her money, she would definitely shop at the Hua store there. The main branch sold their products more cheaply than their other retail stores around the galaxy.

Planet Anjing was actually one of the third-rate planets under Yujinxiang. Because it was tidally locked to its host star and was nearly uninhabitable, Song Jia managed to afford the cost of living.

Yujinxiang was considered to be the most expensive planetary system to live in the whole galaxy. For being able to call herself a Yujinxiang citizen, Song Jia was very proud of it.

"Space flight passengers, we have arrived at our intended destination. Please prepare immediately for disembarkation."
