It didn't take long for Xu Jinhai to take a bath.

Song Jia barely moved from the sofa before he teleported next to her, his hair still dripping wet.

"Jinhai, can you stop teleporting when it isn't necessary?"

She couldn't help but scold him. She had just been sitting there, lost in her thoughts, when a pair of arms suddenly hugged her tightly from behind and buried his face in the crook of her neck.

Because his hair was still wet, droplets of water fell on Song Jia's skin. If he continued to appear out of thin air like this, she was soon going to die from a heart attack.

"Jia, isn't it a necessity to hug you sooner?"

Already used to her scolding, Xu Jinhai simply let her words pass from one ear to another. Seeing that Song Jia was squirming uncomfortably from the cold water trickling down her neck, Xu Jinhai bowed his head and licked it off.

Feeling the wet warmth of his tongue, a shudder shook her from head to toe.

"Xu Jinhai!"

Because of shock, the pitch of her voice was raised a little.

Xu Jinhai lifted his face, his expression filled with innocence. "I just wanted to dry you off."

Song Jia, "..."

I believe in your evil.

Knowing that continuing in this direction would definitely be bad for her, Song Jia quickly changed the subject.

"Jinhai, is this your house? When did you buy this?"

Xu Jinhai lazily rested his chin on the top of her head and thought for a moment, "Shortly after I woke up from playing a virtual game."

Song Jia stiffened. If it was that virtual game, then...it was after Xu Jinhai met her in the underworld version of Manzusha. When she met Xu Jinhai in the real world, he was waiting for her outside of the transmigration department. Not to mention, him and Nova seemed to know each other quite well.

Considering all of these points, there was only one conclusion that she could come to.

Song Jia pursed her lips.

"Jinhai...did you already know? About my job as a professional transmigrator."

Xu Jinhai tilted his head and absently rubbed his chin in her hair. "En."

Song Jia bowed her head and knotted her fingers together. She was suddenly aware that she was feeling nervous, mentally preparing herself for the worst outcome to happen.

It had been a long-held belief of Song Jia's that if she expected the worst, then she would no longer feel sad when it happened.

However, she still felt an onset mix of anxiety and panic that she herself couldn't explain.

"Jinhai...in fact, I should have told you this sooner. Our meeting in Manzusha wasn't exactly the first time we met. Remember when we were still there and your memories suddenly became hazy for a few days? In fact, I lied to you. It was actually because your first incarnation, and my husband in my first transmigration mission, possessed your body."

Xu Jinhai knew that talking about this was very difficult for Song Jia, so he tried hard not to move a single muscle, worried that a small movement would cause her to stop opening up to him. However, when he heard the word 'husband,' a grimace still couldn't help but flash across his expression.

How come that bastard Zhao Cheng gets to be called a husband?

Wasn't there a worthier husband right here in front of her? Jia, just tilt your head thirty degrees to the right, you'll definitely see him!
