(Kaito POV)
While out with Maki going to see a movie at the movie theater, we both got a text from a group chat. We exchanged glances and sat down to open the chat notification. The chat wasn't the the one that everyone was in, but one Himiko and Tenko created. It had almost everyone in it except for Kokichi and Shuichi. The first text read:
Tenko: Kokichi and Shuichi seems pretty close, do any of you know what's up with them?
Himiko: We saw them at the school, they were acting really buddy-buddy.
I replied with:
Kaito: What's so odd about that?
Maki-roll glared at me, "That's the best you could come up with? They weren't close during the game, so of course it's suspicious."
"Oh-oh, right," I gargled.
Miu: I BET THEY'RE FUCKIN
Keebo: I highly doubt it.
Kaede: They didn't seem that close last time I saw them together
Ryoma: I don't see the point of this
Kirumi: Going into such things will not lead into anything, unless you request I look into it?
Maki-roll: I don't think that's necessary, if they're close now what does it matter to you?
Gonta: Gonta not understand, so Kokichi and Shuichi friends? That a good thing yes?
Himiko: Anyone close to Kokichi is suspicious, he might be influenced by Kokichi's lying
Kaede: Give Shuichi more credit than that, he's a detective. If anything, he's probably trying to find ways to tell what's a lie from Kokichi versus when he's telling the truth
Kiyo: That's plausible, I wonder if he'll succeed
Tenko: None of you get it! They were acting like they were dating or something!
Miu: I TOLD YOU! THEY FUCKIN
Maki-roll: Shut up Miu
Ryoma: It's their lives, why should we interfere with it?
Tenko: Don't you remember what Himiko said!
Ryoma: Yeah
Tenko: Right, almost forgot a degenerate like you would understand!
Rantaro: Let's not be so hasty, you don't know for sure. We won't know unless we ask them ourselves.
Himiko: But they were dancing together in the cafeteria.
Keebo: This is Kokichi we're talking about, he acts like a child.
Himiko: But Shuichi wasn't trying to let go
Angie: Hmm, that is strange, but not to fret. Atua will protect him!
Gonta: So Shuichi unsafe? Is that why he need protection? Then Gonta volunteer!
Angie: Don't worry Gonta, Shuichi will be protected by Atua!
Gonta: Oh, then Gonta won't worry
Tenko: They were holding hands! And Kokichi was skipping!
Shuichi, I really gotta cover your back don't I? I could just text him and ask if he's okay with telling the others, but I have a feeling that he wouldn't want to.
Miu: THEY FUCKIN
Maki-roll: Do you wanna die?
Kaede: Friends hold hands too, it's not something only couples do
