stefan called may during the night to tell her that elena was missing.
she was taken by anna. anna was the vampire that may had seen at the school dance, she knew her from long ago.
may went to help stefan search for her during the night but they couldn't find her.
may went over to the house after she had went to the coffee shop to get some for her and stefan.
"i thought damon would be here." may said entering the house to hear it was quiet.
"he went to sheila bennett's." stefan said.
"here." may said passing him a coffee and he thanked her.
"i knew that girl looked familiar at the school dance, i just hadn't seen anna in a long time." may said.
"yeah, she was pretending to like jeremy so she could get close to elena." stefan said.
"and the gilbert journal, no doubt." may said as stefans phone rang.
"it's elena." stefan said before answering the phone while may listened.
"elena, are you okay?" stefan asked.
"she's fine, for now. tell me you have the grimoire, and she'll stay fine." anna said.
just as stefan was about to respond, may saw damon walk in.
"i can get it." stefan told her.
"which means your brother has it. and i have the witch. so one of you had better meet me in the very public town square in 30 minutes so we can safely discuss how fun it's gonna be to work together." anna said before hanging up the phone.
"go ahead. grovel again. oh, wait. no. i don't care." damon said.
damon ended up going to meet with anna.

damon told stefan where anna was staying so while he was meeting up with her, may and stefan went to save elena.
he kicked the door open, exposing the vampire anna turned to the sun and he hid in the corner.
"stefan." elena said, happy to see him.
may saw that they had also kidnapped bonnie, both of them seemed afraid.
"girls, get outside." stefan told them as they ran out of the motel.
may and stefan walked up to the vampire hiding from the sun and may recognized him as the bartender from the grill.
"when the sun goes down, leave town. if i ever see you again, i will kill you." stefan said.
"do you understand?" may asked but he didn't say anything.
may scoffed and grabbed him by the throat before slamming him into the wall.
"i'm gonna ask you again, do you understand?" may asked him.
"yes." the guy said in a slow voice since may was choking him.
"good, because if stefan doesn't kill you, i'll do it myself." may said before letting him go.

sheila bennett agreed to help open the tomb, bonnie was going to help.
they were at the old church and stefan was doing some thing sheila had requested.
