"so, what you said to get me to do this, about my wife it's a lie, wasn't it?" alaric asked.
"yep." damon said.
may could hear banging from the other side of the door.
"stop. what's going on here?" they heard someone ask from outside.
pearl and her daughter anna walked into the house and saw the dead vampires.
"what did you do?" pearl asked as she looked at damon.
"me? your merry little band of vampires spent the day torturing my brother." damon told her.
"trust me, the parties responsible for this will be dealt with." pearl said.
"i believe some of them already have been." may said pulling a stake out of one of the dead vampires.
"our little arrangement doesn't work unless you learn to control them." damon told pearl.
"this wasn't supposed to happen." pearl replied.
"well, it did. if i had a good side, not a way to get on it." damon said before walking out of the house along with alaric.
"pearl, you may be stronger than me but i can promise you if you come after the people i care about i'll be your worst enemy." may said giving her a mean glare before bumping her shoulder and walking out.
after stefan was finally safe, damon and may went to check on him and found him with a bunch of empty blood bags in his room.
"oh, boy." may said.

a few days after stefan had lost control, he gained some of his control back and tried to get back to how he was.
may had been helping him by working out with him, going for runs and finding ways to get his mind off blood.
the blood cravings were never really a big problem for may compared to other vampires.
after a few days, stefan was ready to go back in public and he tagged along with may and damon to the founders day kick off party.
"oh, god. i shouldn't be here." stefan said.
"come on. don't be a downer. it's a party for founding families and your sober sponsor is here." damon said the last part being directed towards may.
"that would be us. it would be rude to skip it." damon said as they walked into the party.
"i really liked you a whole lot better when you hated everybody." stefan said.
"oh, i still do. i just love that they love me." damon said.
"i believe they call that narcissism." may said.
"whatever. how you feeling?" damon said looking at stefan.
"i'm good. i'm fine." stefan replied.
"no cravings, no urges? is that whiskey you've been drinking all day doing its job?" damon said as stefan chuckled.
"that would be my doing." may said.
"we are who we are, stefan. pretending doesn't change that." damon said.
"nothing would make you happier than to see me give in, huh, damon?" stefan asked his older brother.
