bonnie went to go find klaus leaving damon and may alone. they were waiting for the plan to unfold until stefan and elena showed up.
"there you are." damon said.
"what are you doing? where's bonnie?" elena asked.
"she's doing what she has to do." damon replied.
"what?" elena asked.
"where is she?" stefan asked.
"stefan, let her do this." damon said.
"damn it, damon, where is she?" stefan asked, raising his voice a little.
stefan and elena ran to go find bonnie and when may and damon showed up, elena was crying over bonnie's body.
"stefan, get elena out of here. i'll deal with the body." damon said.
"i'll help you." may told damon.
"what do you mean deal with it?" elena asked.
"the sheriff can't know about this. last thing we need is another mysterious death." damon said going to pickup bonnie.
"this is bonnie." elena cried making may tear up.
she knew it was part of the plan but it hurt her to see elena lose her best friend... she knew exactly what that was like.
"get her home. now. so we can clean this up." damon told stefan.
"hey, hey, hey." stefan said trying to get elena up.
"no. jeremy. oh, my god, jeremy. what about jeremy?" elena asked.
"we'll find him." damon said.
"no." elena cried as stefan took her away from the room.
may let out a sigh as damon closed bonnie's eyes. damon carried bonnie into the trunk of his car and may looked at him.
"are you going to explain this to jeremy?" may asked him.
just as she said that, they saw jeremy running towards them.
"damon, may. hey, i got your messages. i can't find anyone. where's elena, where's bonnie?" jeremy asked.
"we need to have a little talk." damon replied.

may and damon finally got back to the house after bringing bonnie to the old house in the woods where the witches were burned.
"what did you do with her?" elena asked immediately.
"will you please calm her down?" damon said looking over at stefan.
"don't talk like i'm not standing right in front of you." elena said.
"please calm down." damon told her.
"you knew. didn't you? you both did. you knew that if she harnessed all that power, she would die, didn't you?" elena said looking at both damon and may.
