"i don't think i've ever eaten so much in my life." tom said as they made their way to the train station.
"yeah. i don't think anyone has." caroline said.
"then i suppose it was a sitting last supper." enzo said walking up to tom and snapping his neck.
"no! why the hell did you do that?" caroline asked enzo.
"because you two weren't going to do it. the travelers moved to some junkyard just outside mystic falls. feel free to tell stefan you're the one who saved his life." enzo said looking at caroline.
he walked away and may looked at tom's dead body. she knew it had to be done but it didn't mean that she liked what happened.
caroline went to go talk to stefan when they got back but may was sitting in the car, alone.
she heard the passenger door open and enzo sat in the seat and closed the door.
"i'm not sorry for killing tom." enzo said as may let out a sigh.
"i know. it doesn't mean i can't feel guilty about it." may said.
"i didn't wanna say anything in front of blondie but i saw the look in your eye when you first saw him, you weren't gonna kill him. he looked like stefan." enzo said as may nodded.
"i feel like a fool, i just couldn't kill an innocent man." may said.
"you're not a fool, may. you just care about people and i admire that." enzo said as she smiled at him.
they stopped talking when they heard the travelers chanting and all the sudden they all caught on fire.
"we've gotta get out of here." may said with wide eyes.
"take my hand." enzo said holding out his hand which she took.
enzo held her hand in his and they used their vampire speed to get as far away from the travelers as possible.

now that stefan and elena were the last remaining doppelgängers, they were having weird visions of each other in a different universe.
caroline and elena went over to the house to meet up with may, enzo and damon.
"i thought you were bringing a witch." enzo said.
"i said we'd call her. i didn't say we'd pick her up." caroline said before tossing her jacket on him.
"so where's, uh... where's damon?" elena asked as he walked into the room and they locked eyes.
may had learned from enzo that damon and elena broke up but then slept together and elena moved back to campus.
"hi." damon said to her.
"hi." elena replied.
"so who could use a drink from the library?" enzo asked.
"yes, please." caroline said.
"how about two drinks." may said as the three of them left damon and elena to talk.
may noticed that caroline was listening in on their conversation.
"ugh, this is so bad. they're fishing for small talk. we should do something." caroline said.
