"i have no idea where wes took her." aaron said.
"that's what they all say." may said.
"well, they're not at his lab. so where else could he hide a vampire?" stefan asked him.
"uh, i'm sorry, am i supposed to know who you two are?" aaron asked stefan and may.
"that's my brother, stefan and his best friend may. but i'd watch your tone because he's in the midst of a psychotic break and may is over 400 years old so she's very strong." damon said.
"i'm sorry. i'm what?" stefan asked him.
"oh, come on. you don't think i know about you and katherine?" damon asked.
"yeah, it's disgusting." may said.
"oh, i see. you're jealous." stefan said to damon.
"more like disturbed. see? he's off his rocker. he's losing his mind. teetering on the brink of insanity." damon said to aaron.
"how are you not dead? i shot you." aaron said to damon.
"well, cause you went for the head. you gotta go for the heart. go for the heart next time. now, where's elena?" damon asked him again.
"i have no idea. all that wes told me was go about my life as usual." aaron said.
"well, you gotta call wes and you're gonna tell him that if he doesn't give us elena... the next experiment that he conducts is gonna be sowing your arms back on." damon told him.

aaron grabbed his phone and called up wes. the vampires listened in once he picked up.
"aaron, hey." wes said.
"do you have elena?" aaron asked him.
"aaron, what's wrong?" wes asked him hearing the panic in his voice.
"uh, may wilkins, stefan and damon salvatore are gonna kill me unless you give them elena." aaron explained to him.
"damon salvatore is locked in an impenetrable and inescapable fortified cell." wes replied.
"or he's in front of me imagining what my kidney would taste like." aaron said.
"fine. meet me in my classroom. once i see you're safe, tell them i'll give them elena." wes replied before he hung up the call.

"you wanna give me a little back story as to how you know one another?" stefan asked as they walked across the campus.
"aaron is aaron whitmore. and he comes from a very long line of vampire probing, blood testing... organ removing freaks called augustine." damon explained.
"why do you know this?" stefan asked him.
"because i was their test subject in the 50s." damon replied.
"what do you mean test subject?" stefan asked.
"meaning i donated my body to science. except i was alive and it was against my will." damon answered.
"oh, my god." may said.
"wait, hold on a minute. how do i not know about this?" stefan asked his brother.
