Reaching your chambers, you throw open the door and spot it immediately. A small, white paper sitting on top of the covers of your bed.

Running forward, you grab it eagerly, a gasp of pleasant surprise escaping your lips as a smile consumes you.

The photo is blurry, and the coloring is a little strange - no doubt Thor had been the one operating the phone camera. But still, within the frame is a tiny toddler, his eyes squeezed shut in the middle of a laugh as Tony tickles his side, and Pepper smiles at him while pointing ahead to the camera.

It's perfect.

Lost in the moment, you can hear Anthony's giggles in your head. You can picture Pepper trying desperately to get Tony to stop tickling the baby so he'll look at the camera. All the while, Thor is likely trying to understand which button to press.

Your heart swells, and you cant bring yourself to put it down.

Using your seidr to conjure a pair of jeans and a blouse, you feel much more comfortable in your Midgardian clothes, and you slip the photo into your back pocket - comforted by the knowledge that it's there.

Taking a deep breath, you look at yourself in your mirror and adjust your hair slightly before making your way back towards the dungeons. You stop at the stairs to speak to the two guards waiting at the top.

As you approach, they stand at attention and cross their arms across their chest, bowing slightly.

"Lady Y/n, we stand ready," the one on the right says.

You nod, and begin the walk down to Loki's cell.

You expect to find Thor still with his brother - the audience with Odin having taken less than 30 minutes. But he's gone, and Loki has resumed his place sitting on the edge of his bed, reading his book as he picks at the fruits still on his breakfast tray.

As you approach, he glances up from his book. Upon seeing the two guards that accompany you, his brow arches and he stands, flipping over the book gently so as not to lose his place.

"You return so soon?" sneers Loki, his positive humor from your debate only an hour earlier gone.

"Mhmm," you say, walking over to the control panel.

"I assumed you'd be busy welcoming home your lover," Loki scowls.

"He's not my lover," you answer, repeating this for the hundredth time. "Besides, you're more important right now," you say.

You watch Loki as the transparent wall falls, a visible shock on his face at your words.

"Well?" you ask, gesturing for Loki to come to you. But he doesn't move. Instead, his gaze flits back and forth between you and the guards.
