Interruptions to Silence: IV

Adleth's leg shook slightly as Volo reached around the table handing out small pouches of gold, ten dragons each. It could be a good amount to throw at her debt if she was ever going to pay off something that significant, but seriously this man must be desperate if he was going to pay ten dragons each to six people. Plus, more when the job was complete. Adleth clutched her pouch and slipped it into her pocket.

"I last saw him at the skewered dragon, a dark Bawdy tavern in the dock ward; I recommend you start your search there," Volo said unceremoniously. "When you find him, be sure to meet me back here." Volo nodded quickly before jumping up and walking away from the table. As Volo passed her, she swiped a punch off his belt, 7 more gold, and a few random trinkets. She took another drink staring intently at the cultist, glancing at her constantly.

"So uh. Tomorrow morning?" Herod suggested.

"Does he seriously have purple eyes?" Adleth blurted out; she leaned forward, wanting to grab the half-elve's eyelids and pry them open. "Those are fake, right? I- heard of shit like that. Like little things, you use to change the color? Riu, you know what I'm talking about?" Asher across the table started laughing; she shrugged.

"Hey! They're real.." Markos mumbled. He seemed a little frightened at the mention.

"I've never seen purple.." Riu shook her head. "But weird eye colors happen; this small noble family was in the Cormyr area. The uh. Ever'reiyns! Their kids have silver and green swirled eyes." Riu poured water into a cup with the alcohol and spun it around, showing the twisting pattern. "Like that."

"Mhphm!" Adleth looked up, and she heard a small welp come from someone at that mention.

"Extinct noble house." Asher corrected her and chuckled, downing his drink through a mouth hole.

"No, no." Riu waved her finger. "Rumour has it a daughter is still alive out there." Adleth shook her head.

"Not.. what I was asking about, but gee, thanks." She waved the story off without a care.

"What I need to know." Herod interrupted. "Is what is that?" He pointed at Alekzandr's side, the long metallic cylinder connected to a wooden stock in his grasp.

"My rifle. Segiri." The man replied in a thick accent. "It's getting late." Alekzandr piped up. "We should get a room and start our search in the morning."

"Ok, non-believer!" Markos chimed up. Asher, Herod, Markos and Alekzandr stood up. Adleth was surprised by how quickly everyone stood up; fuckkkk, she was tired. Couldn't they just drink? She kept her hood up, trying to not let others see her.

"Adleth?" Adleth looked at Riu, who was staring at her, "Care to share a room?" Adleth smirked and nodded. The blonde-haired, blue-eyed human seemed gullible enough, and if it meant she didn't have to pay for a room, it made her job more manageable. Riu was tall, maybe five foot six, with a big fucking chest and long blonde hair; her eyes were a glittering icy blue, and her skin was pale with rosy cheeks. She was charming, Adleth admitted though not her type, dressed in conservative white and blue cleric robes and adorned with a set of perfectly polished scale mail.

"Sure thing Riuu," Adleth replied, stretching the name out, following the girl up the stairs to where Durnan was directing the group. They were in room one thirty-two swinging the dark oak door open. Adleth got a nice view of the stead, two large queen-sized beds, and a bathroom. It looked pretty damn good and expensive. She set her belongings on a bed next to Riu's as the girl threw down item after item onto the bed. Adleth thought about raiding that collection when the room was clear.

"I'm gonna head down to the bar, ok?" Riu piped up, and they'd been in the room for less than a second, but she presumed because Riu hadn't been the one to suggest sleeping, she would stay up a bit longer. Adleth nodded, and she didn't want to spend the energy to get back down the stairs crashing on the bed instead.

"Oh yeah, you do that. I'm just gonna get some sleep." Adleth watched as Riu exited the room. "Free reign." she joked as she lunged at Riu's belongings. After a thorough bout of stealing, Adleth laid down in her own bed, pocketing various items she found in the room. She was a tiny elf, only around a hundred and thirty pounds, so she didn't need too many blankets. Adleth stared at the room's ceiling, replaying the last few hours' events in her head, hiding out in the tavern. Now she most likely had been seen after helping intervene with that shit. Crap.. she thought, well, as long as they were leaving in the morning, maybe no one would care. That's when she started hearing a commotion outside.

"C'monnnn, you can do anything you'd like!" Adleth opened her door angrily. Only to see down the hall with the door wide open, Alekzandr, mounted by Riu, her whorish voice in full display. Adleth wasn't sure if it was supposed to say endearing or soft or just like that of a prostitute.

"Really?" She groaned. Riu's face was plastered red; the girl was drunk as a skunk.

"Please get off me." Alekzandr looked full of it, and about two seconds from blasting the girl off his legs.

"Nooo Alekzzz, can't we just.. spend some time-"

"FUCKING THOTTTTTTTT!" Adleth jumped nearly five feet in the air as Herod charged past her; he was almost completely undressed, swinging a long sword with one hand or maybe two swords? She wanted to laugh. He ran at Riu.

"Get off of him. I was trying to have a conversion!" Markos yelled from Alekzandr's room.

"Don't you mean conversation, Markos?" Alekzandr asked while fighting off the half-naked drunk on his lap. Riu's top had become undone as she was mumbling nonsense.

"Uh.. yeah.. a conversation Alekzandr.. conversation.." Adleth couldn't see him, but she wondered what would happen if she lunged at the half-elf; it was kinda funny how scared he got before.

"Of you that! Down with the whores!" Herod slammed his hand into the back of Riu's neck, crippling her to the ground. Herod sheathed his long sword in... was it just.. hovering next to his underwear? "Help me drag the slut, Markos!" Herod yelled out.

"Ok, potential believer," Markos said softly. The two dragged Riu off Alekzandr, picking up pieces of her discarded clothing before pulling her toward Adleth's room.

"She's fucking drunk," Adleth said to herself as the boys dragged her into the room, setting her on the bed. Her clothes fell off in clumps; Adleth helped fix her into a decent state. Luckily the layers meant they saw nothing.

"Ok, now you watch over the whore." Herod said before walking out of the room.

"Mmhmp!" Markos yelped as he fled the room, steering clear of Adleth.

"Maybe I can get some money out of him.." Adleth giggled, staring at the fleeing figure of Markos.
