Shatter: CVII

*DeTsssesss*

Vaelle bolted awake to the sound of a shatter, the sound of glass being broken echoing throughout the house. Vaelle looked over to her right; Riu was also awake. She grabbed her knife and instantly unfurled it. *Bshhaink* but she quickly set it back down.

"You heard that... right?" Riu quizzed. She nodded in response. Getting up she threw the door open and looked in the hallway. That sound didn't just sound like someone dropping a bottle.. She took a deep breath, her dreams were not kind that night. All she could be visited by was the disembodied face of Donna. She was calling out to her for help.

"Markos!" Vaelle heard Herod yelling from upstairs. "Was that you, you idiot..?" Riu appeared on her right. Vaelle gave the woman a careful stare gesturing to the stairs. It was evident to both of them that the shatter occurred from downstairs, not from wherever Markos was.

"We should check it out." She concluded, heading down the stairs. The bar floor was empty. Vaelle didn't notice anything out of order. The bar was still just how they had left it. The room was cold and barren. She approached the bar, steadily looking over it. Still nothing. What the hell was that shatter? She wondered. A slight chill crept up her spine, she felt a fear she hadn't felt since the crypt. Vaelle got a subtle feeling she was being.. Watched. "Do you.."

"Feel that?" Riu finished her sentence.

"We need to wake the others," Andraste murmured. The elf melted from the stairs, making her precedence known.

"I can do that." Her Aasimar roommate chipped, the girl ran up the stairs.- "WAKE THE FUCK UP!" Vaelle instinctually ducked, what the hell? She'd never really heard the girl swear before!

"I'm already awake I'm just staring at a wall!" Herod yelled back, stomping ensued on the stairs.

"E- Kill the non-believers!" Vaelle kept back up the stairs and looked up.

*BRUANG* Alekzandr's door flew open, and the half-dressed drunk stumbled out slamming into a wall with his rifle in hand. "Where's the enemy?!!" He snapped around with larger bags under his eyes. Vaelle held her head in her hands and started laughing. Bit by bit they gathered in the tavern. Markos looked terribly sleepy, and Adleth's hair was a mess, as were her clothes. Which did not fit a sleeping environment.

Adleth seemed to fix her top. "Alright, I've already had bitch boy wake me up and keep me up all night, what else is there?" The elf snapped.

"You didn't hear it?" She mused. Damn, she must have slept heavier than.. Jeski.. Oh.. she was making herself sad.

"What the shattering thing? Nah I did, just didn't care."

"To be fair." Herod added. "We don't really question what's happening in this house.. Usually we just.. Wake up, grumble Markos and go back to sleep." she opened her mouth to say something, comment, question. Anything really. 'No.' She thought. Closing it.

"Alekz.. Did you drop a vodka bottle?" Herod queried in a tired voice. Vaelle found that unlikely. The man seemed obsessed with his liquor.

"What?" Alekzandr replied, with his W sounding like a V. "Of course not. Why the hell would I be down here if I dropped a vodka bottle- Comrade, that is very stupid. But that better not have been one of my vodka glasses or someone's a dead man." She sighed, they were getting nowhere.

Andraste cleared her throat. "This.. was not something physical.." She declared. That was pretty evident at that point. Vaelle figured. She stared at Riu who was scanning the walls.
