Grey~
Six weeks later...
"Fuck you!" Eva yells, a smile creeping onto her lips.
"I mean if you want to-" I joke back.
"You're the worst, but that's beside the point! Give me my phone back!" She giggles.
"No! I wanted to see those pictures." I lay down on her bed, scrolling through endless pictures of younger Evangeline.
She looks like a different person now. She's matured, her hair is much shorter, her smile is so much more confident.
High school Eva had no idea how much she would grow. I didn't even know her then, and I know how she has grown.
"You suck." She smiles, laying down next to me.
"You know you love me."
"You're right, I do."
"Are you feeling better today?" I ask.
"Not really." She laughs.
"What do you think it is?"
"No clue. It really sucks though."
"Are you at least sleeping better?"
"No. I haven't slept more than three hours in the last week."
"God I'm sorry baby. Do you want to go get checked out?"
"I'm okay. I think I just have a little bun,"
"You mean a bug?"
"No. I mean a bun."
"What does that even- Oh my god?! Wait really?!" My heart races.
"I um- I have a test in the bathroom. And now that I think about it, I haven't gotten my period since like, early July."
"Do you want to see?" I ask her.
"Yeah."

I anxiously await lines to appear on the test. My arms wrap around Evangeline, tight. I can feel her heart pounding against her chest."If it's negative, we can always keep trying." She tells me.
I know we can." My lips gently kiss her forehead.
"And if it's positive,"
"I'll be the happiest man in the world." I smile.
"Do you want to check it, or do you want me to?" I ask.
"Can I?"
"Go right ahead." She hands the test. My stomach drops.
