13. Fake It Till You Make It

Mumbai:
Adi took Ram to their house to change.
Ram quickly entered and got ready in his 3-piece black suit, styled his hair messily, wore his pathetic goldchain. Then he looked at himself.
"Ewww...kya lag laga hai tu. Pihu ne thik he kaha tha baal bird ke ghosla ki tarah hi lag raha hai. Aur yeh chain! Kis liye pehna tha! Kya kya karna padega ab!", he thought.
He came out in the living room. Adi was setting their table for breakfast. He looked at Ram and started rolling on the floor laughing.
Adi(laughing his heart out): Ram! Phir se yeh! Chii! Kya lag raha hai...Pihu ke samne phir se aise mat jana tujhe bohot taane maregi.
Ram(sulking): No one told me I look this bad! Batana chahiye tha na. Apni beti ne aj baalon ko bura kaha yaar. I know Priya ko bhi yeh achha nahi lagta hai.
Adi: Oye! Tu sunne ke mood mein rehta tha kabhi. Aise taiyaar hoke 4'o clock in the morning meeting karta tha, aur Angiras ko toh tu aise hi pasand hai.
Ram narrowed his eyes at him.
Ram(suddenly teary): I'm sorry Adi. Meri wajah se tum logo ko bohot problem hui hai. I'm really really sorry.
Adi: Hatt pagal! Hum dost hain tere achhe waqt mein bhi saath hai, aur bure mein bhi. This is why we are still best friends after all this time.
Ram(goofily): Always!
Adi: Tere Harry Potter references khatam ho gaye toh breakfast karle?
Ram: Ha ha...jaldi karni hai. Sandy aa jayegi.
Ram quickly hugged Adi and sat on the chair.
Adi and Ram quickly had their breakfast then they started for KM.

Goa:
Brinda and Pihu were playing hide n seek.
Priya was lying on the sofa.
Pihu: Ms. Sood where did Jaan hide?
Priya: Main nahi batayungi. Pihu cheating karna is not good baby. You're a good girl na! Go find Jaan.
Pihu nodded and again went to find Brinda.
Sometimes later, Brinda came with Pihu in her arms, both laughing merrily.
Priya: So who won.
Brinda: We played 10 times. Pihu won by 1 point.
Pihu: Yesss. Ms. Sood we had so much fun.
Priya: That's very good.
Priya made Pihu sit on her belly.
Priya: You should sleep for sometime baby. You look tired.
Pihu: No...please.
Priya: You can play again after taking some rest.
Pihu: Phewww....okay fine. But tell me a story.
Priya: Okay.
Priya made her lie down on her and started caressing her hair, telling her a story.
Brinda was watching the duo in awe.
She took a video of them.
Pihu slept after sometime clutching Priya's hand.
Priya and Brinda were smiling at each other.

Kapoor Mansion:
Ram and Adi entered the house. Ram changed into his angry bird expression.
His blood boiled as he saw Nandini, Shubham sitting in the dining area having breakfast.
Nandini: Arreyy Ram...aao aao. Baitho. Tarun breakfast lao Ram ka.
Ram: No mom. I already had my breakfast. How are you today?
Nandini: I'm much better than yesterday Ram. Aur rahungi kaise nahi tum itni care jo karte ho meri.
Ram fake smiled at her.
Shubham: Bhai woh government deal ka kya?
Ram: Sudhu I'll crack it. Don't worry. Minister ke saath meeting karni hai ek bass.
Nandini: Kitni achhi baat hai na ke yeh deal hume mil rahi hai.
Ram nodded.
Sandy entered just in time.
Ram: Sit and give me the updates.
Sandy: Yes sir.
They started discussing strategies to bag the deal.
Sometimes later,
Sandy: And these changes Shubham sir suggested has been made.
Ram: Shubhu these are really good suggestions. Thanks.
Shubham smiled proudly.
Just then Sandy got a call from Sara. Ram looked annoyed.
Sandy: Sir please can I take this call? It's important.
Ram: You know how much I hate irritating call during meetings.
Sandy(looking down): Sir please.
Ram(looking highly irritated): Fine. Go. Kya musibbat hai!
Sandy went to the side and received the call.
After a minute,
Sandy(a little loudly): What?
Then mellowed down her voice but kept it enough loud so that everyone can hear.
Sandy: Pri di chali gayi! Hamesha ke lia. Sara di aap ko pata hai kya kaha? Nahi! Koi nahi jaan ta. Kyun chali woh phir se. Mujhe pata tha woh nahi rukegi Sara di....she never wanted to come only. Okay mujhe kaam hai abhi. Bye main rakhti hoon.
She cut the call and turned to others with tears in her eyes. She quickly composed herself and sat down.
Adi was looking at Ram intently.
Ram(annoyed): What? You think I should go and stop her? Never! Why should I! Apni marzi se aayi thi apni marzi se gayi. Kabhi kuch usne kisi aur ke baare mein sochke kia hai! Then why the fuck I should go and stop her! Meri zindagi nark banadi usne aur uske Krish ne milke. Yeh dhoka puri zindagi yaad rakhunga. Achha hua chali gayi. I don't even want to see her face.
Nandini caught Ram's hand.
Nandini: Ram beta calm down. Koi tumhe jaane ke lia nahi keh raha. Priya ne sirf tumhe nahi tumhari family means hume bhi jinse tum sabse zyada pyaar karte ho usse bhi dhokha diya, chot pohochayi. Tumhe itne dard mein nahi dekh sakti Ram. I'm your mother.
Ram felt like throwing up.
Ram: Main nahi chahta ke woh yaha rahe. Chali gayi mera sar dard kam hua.
Nandini: Haan achha hua chali gayi. Mujhe woh ladki apne aas paas bhi nahi dekhni. Meri Shivi!
She started her fake cries.
Ram had no option but to console her.
Ram: Mom please don't cry. Aapki tabiyat kharab hogi. I know Shivi chali gayi hume chod kar. Aur main unko aap ke aas paas bhi aane nahi dunga. Don't worry.
Nandini: Thanks Ram tum nahi hote toh mera kya hota.
Sandy sat there, face down.
