So the doctor just left. He gave us both good and bad news. The good news is that we get to leave here. The bad news- well not bad news, it's just not news we were expecting. Kain's not completely free from hospitals just yet, he's getting transferred to the hospital back home in Dalton. Kain's wounds are healing and they're up to par but they still want to make sure they aren't missing anything important.

I pack up all Kain's belongings in his hospital room while he complains as he fills out the paperwork. The guy really can't do anything without complaining or whining. On our way down the hallway, the nurse and the EMT are pushing the gurney with Kain on it toward the ambulance exit. I'm following behind them carrying all of Kain's stuff and whatever the nurse handed me.

Noticing Kain's silence, I peak around the gurney and see him laying there, propped up and sulking. He's mad because he doesn't understand why he has to ride in the bumpy ambulance all the way home, instead of with me in his car. And he's also mad because he wants to walk to the ambulance, instead of being on the gurney. Because he claims and I quote, "My legs are fucking fine, I could do a seven hundred pound squat then run countless circles around all you."

When he said that to the EMT's and the nurse, I just shook my head and kept my mouth shut. It's not easy dealing with Kain sometimes.

They load Kain in the ambulance and I get in Kain's car. They let me park his car in the ambulance bay so I can easily follow them. It takes a little bit for them to get going but when we finally start moving the drive goes fast. I follow behind the ambulance the four hour drive home. The ambulance doesn't have it's lights and sirens on since it's not an emergency.

"Do you need me to bring you anything from your apartment?" I ask Kain while he gets settled in in his new home for the time being. I'm sure by Davis' request, Kain got a room to his self. Davis hasn't really been around since Kain got hurt. He just came to the hospital when Kain first got injured and he left with Rylin to take her to rehab, he hasn't returned or we haven't heard from him since.

Hearing that Rylin was going to rehab was a bit of a shock. I mean, I did catch her popping pills that one time but I didn't think it was actual drugs, I literally thought it was only medicine. When the doctor said that Kain needed blood, since he lost a lot in the wreck, Rylin volunteered but they couldn't use her blood because she had whatever pills she was taking in her bloodstream. They tested Davis' blood but he wasn't a match then they tested me. I have universal blood, which means I can donate blood to anyone and it won't be a problem so they used mine.

Judson vanished from the hospital. I barely saw him after the accident then I didn't see him at all. I have no clue where he went.

"Nah, I'm good. Thanks for everything though, Scott. Seriously, man, thank you." Kain says in appreciation.

I stop what I'm doing and raise my eyebrows in surprise. I think this is the first time Kain has ever thanked me for something. "Yeah, of course." I smile a tight smile and nod my head once. Silence falls over us for a brief second. I go back to folding Kain's old clothes, I lay them on the window sill then I turn to him. "Alright. I'm gonna head home. Are you sure you don't need anything from anywhere? I don't want you to get bored and cause some trouble." I tease.
