There's a belief that true significance in a person shines through when their absence leaves a noticeable void in your days. The ache of missing someone can illuminate the depth of emotions and connections shared. As Elena stepped outside in search of Reeve, she had a hunch it was him causing the commotion in the garden. Spotting him happily investigating the backyard, tail wagging with joy, Elena couldn't help but smile at his playful antics. She settled down by the pool, content in the presence of her furry companion.

The night held an unusual perfection, with just the right temperature and weather creating a serene atmosphere. The moon cast its glow over the streets and houses, creating a mesmerizing reflection. Elena found herself gazing up at the night sky, contemplating what it would be like to float among the stars. To her, the moon stood out as the most romantically captivating spot in the entire cosmos, a celestial symbol of love and mystery.

Elena was lost in her moonlit thoughts when Reeve's sudden presence jolted her back to reality. He nuzzled his head against her shoulder, seeking her affection. Elena couldn't help but giggle at his sweet gesture and immediately wrapped her arms around him in a tight embrace.

"You're the only connection I have left to him. You were his loyal companion, and now you've become my dearest friend. Thank you for loving me, Reeve," Elena whispered, a tear slipping down her cheek as memories of Kelan flooded her mind. Kelan, a man she couldn't shake from her thoughts, even in her dreams. At times, guilt pricked at her for holding onto his memory while lying beside Carlton in bed. The truth was, she was consumed with worry for Kelan, yearning for any sign or call that would bring her peace about his well-being.

"If only you knew how much those small moments we shared meant to me. I regret not giving you the chance to explain that rainy day. I was hurt and angry, realizing you weren't just mine, but belonged to another. Call me proud and selfish, but I wanted you all to myself," Elena confessed softly to the moon, her fingers gently caressing Reeve's head as he rested in her lap. Missing someone, she realized, never got easier; it just grew quieter with time.

Despite the ache of longing that lingered within her for the man she missed, she had somehow found a way to coexist with the pain. The mysterious hold Kelan had over her remained a puzzle, as they were merely two individuals navigating life's challenges together. But she couldn't deny that whenever they were in each other's presence, her troubles seemed to vanish without a second thought.

The creak of the back door opening caught Elena's attention, causing her to turn towards the sound. There stood Carlton, his face appearing groggy as his gaze met Elena's.

"Baby!...I've been searching for you! What are you doing out here in the middle of the night?" He exclaimed, his eyes fixed on her as she sat by the pool with the dog.

"Sorry! I couldn't sleep, so I thought I'd come out here for some fresh air," she explained, her fingers gently ruffling Reeve's fluffy fur. Carlton let out a soft sigh and leaned against the door, observing her quietly.
