"Kim Namjoon?"
Countless eyes fall upon her, but Y/n's only stay on the man she thought she might never meet again. It is fascinating how life works. Because the last time she saw him, she was the one close to her death.
And now it is him, barely alive.
Sprawled on the wet ground with rain pattering down on him, Namjoon's head tilts her way and his droopy eyes fall over her. He takes her in before his bruised facelifts in a quirk of a smirk as he meets her eyes, causing an infamous dimple to pop on one of his cheeks. "Empress." His deep voice is hoarse when he greets, smirk widening when numerous glaring eyes shift back to him.
Y/n smiles too. She cannot help it. She finds it expressive how broken and battered he is right now, but he is still grinning like he is not sprawled on an enemy's territory, where a good hundred sailors stand over him and can end his life in a matter of seconds.
Not the smartest move. He seems to be aware of that.
Namjoon's body is being held down by a few of them but he would not be able to move his body even if he wanted to. Most of his bones are broken. It does nothing to stop him from speaking, his words a slurry drawl. "It is good to see you are alive. The last time I saw you, you were dangling from the edge of a plank."
Immediately upon his words, the entire deck falls silent. The atmosphere thickens, tense at the new information that was never spoken of or shared before.
Attention shifts back to the woman standing under the lightly drizzling rain, and Y/n tries her hardest not to shift under the sharp gaze of the man who owns this Ship and all of the Seas with it. She can feel it on the side of her face, but she keeps her eyes on Namjoon.
Her smile widens as she hums, her own dimple rivaling his as she meets his gaze head-on. "The last time I saw you, your head was on top of the world. Now you are just swimming in a pile of shit."
Gasps echo throughout the whole deck at the vulgar use of language from her mouth, and Yuna, who is peeking at the whole scene from behind Y/n, giggles in her hand.
Namjoon, ignoring everything just breaks into a grin, though he is interrupted with a grunt of pain. "I should have known you had claws when I steered you away in that boat."
Y/n would have smirked if it were not for the heavy gaze of her fiancé flicking between her and the man on the ground. Especially when he keeps on tensing up at every word that leaves Namjoon.
"Steered you away?" Jimin finally breaks his silence, his words gritted as his piercing blue irises glare down at the man. "So it was you who drifted her further away from me."
Namjoon flinches, from the pain in his body and the wrath upon him by the Captain of the ship. "I was only trying to give her a way out." He explains it simply cause he does not want to be shredded into pieces and drowned in the deepest parts of the sea by the man.
