Wolf-!..Paaapaaa Woooolf..!" "Ey' now, M'sleeping here, babygirl, how insensitive are you?" "M'not in-insen..M'not! But I'm bored..I wanna play!" "It's too late for playing, fluffy tail. Sides' Cassi and big man down there will be here in juuuust a few minutes to do our final checkup before we go. And it'll be a looong walk where were headed." "Oh..right.." The little wolfs tail slumped.

Lots of time has passed since Papa Wolf had brought her here. And..It was snowing a little bit. Not hard, but, enough to cover some nearby trees and cars all white.

Miss. Cassi had been teaching her more and more words everyday now! Some were still a bit hard, though. She had trouble pronouncing some longer words and tripped over her own tongue somedays.

But full sentences weren't that difficult. Speaking didn't seem to be so scary. Not here. The small wolf had gotten accustomed to where she is. She liked it here now. Miss. Cassi was nice when she wanted to be somtimes.

The couch she slept on was warm, and she enjoyed it because it was small enough to where she could press her ear against Papa Wolfs' chest and hear that his heart would still be beating.

Occasionally she'd be scared it would stop..

Oh! And the food was nice. The toys were fun to play with, the tests weren't that bad when Papa Wolf was there to hold her hand and whispear into her hair that everything would be okay..She was even starting to like being around Mr. Aurther everday!

This was nice.

Everything here was nice.

And she understood that was better to run-better to not be in the same place for too long. It'd be safer that way. They'd be able to hide more, Papa Wolf wouldn't get in trouble. Or yelled at anymore. Hiding is safer. She's learning those things now. So she also knows that leaving this place was smart.

"..I don' wanna leave.."
..Yet, regardless, she protested anyway.

That made Papa Wolf surprised. He sat up fully from where he was lazily lounging on the couch, looking down at his girl in shock as she forced her gaze away from him and instead at her hands as if she was waiting-just waiting for something bad to happen.

"You don't? What do you mean you don't want to leave!" He half-way shouted a bit too harshly.

The smaller wolf flinched, bracing for an impact that would never come. Tiny hands sheilding a tiny face, scrunched up and scared. And it was his fault.

Papa Wolf took a deep breath, settling himself down by clentching his hands into tight fists and hiding them under the covers.

He really needed to learn how to stop doing that...

"Sorry..I-I didn't mean to raise my voice. You just surprised me is all. What do you mean you don't want to leave? Aren't you ready to go?"

"I..No-I..Ne-nevermind..That...Tha-S'stupid..I'm stupid. I'll be quiet. Jus' don't get mad again-" "No-No, pup..I'm not mad. Honestly, I-...Hey..you remember what we talked about?...Hm?"

Huh?...Ah. Right.

It happened when Mr. Aurther had came up behind her too quickly and scared her, bad.

Which resulted in the small wolf being quiet and withdrawn for two days straight.

Papa Wolf naturally got worried and when he found out, he asked her why she never said anything. She said she was too scared.
