AMID her therapy sessions, Lara let her family know that she wished to resume her studies at the university. She assured them she was doing well and mentioned that she was already missing a lot; she didn't want to fall further behind.

At first, her parents were understandably hesitant to allow her. But they eventually agreed after she provided numerous persuasive explanations.

Arq stayed true to her word, remaining by her side and assisting her with speaking to her professors. However, she didn't want anyone to raise an eyebrow, thinking she was taking advantage of her relationship with Arq to do whatever she wished.

For this reason, she repeatedly told Arq to allow her to manage things independently. Arq would agree at first but ultimately turn against her words, insisting that's what a girlfriend is supposed to do.

As a matter of fact, Arq's efforts had increased significantly. Even Andy and Yuan, along with Arq's three best friends, were all closely monitoring her, fostering an environment where she was treated like a VIP.

She couldn't be any luckier.

On one occasion, while having a casual chat over lunch with Arq, Gigi's name cropped up in their conversation. She was stunned upon learning that Arq had conducted a background check on her best friend right after seeing them together during enrollment.

However, even with the knowledge that she and Gigi were merely best friends, Arq's jealousy lingered. When she asked why, Arq candidly answered, "...because that's how it begins, like it did with us. Di ba hindi naman natin expected na mauuwi tayo sa seryosohan? That's why I also feared that your best friend might realize she sees you as more than just a friend. Ang lakas nga niyang sumuntok,e! Maton na maton!"

Natawa siya sa paraan ng paglalarawan nito sa kanyang matalik na kaibigan. Dahil doon ay nagawa rin niyang masilayan sa imahinasyon ang pangyayari kung saan nasuntok ni Gigi si Arq. Siguradong mas matatawa siya kung personal niyang nasaksihan ang insidenteng iyon.

"Straight si Gigi, ano ka ba? Kung alam mo lang na grabe mandiri 'yong taong noong nalaman niyang may girlfriend ako. Nako!"

"I doubt that. Feeling ko, kahit gaano pa ka-straight ang kung sino mang babae once na makasama ka nila may possibility na ma-inlove sila sa'yo kaya babaliko rin, eventually." Paliwanag ni Arq bago umurong para hawakan ang kamay niya, sabay dugtong ng, "...ikaw kasi 'yong tipo ng babaeng ngiti pa lang, nakakabighani na."

Napalitan ang paghalakhak niya ng putol-putol na pagtawa dahil sa biglang kilig at kahihiyan na nadama dulot ng banat ni Arq.

Hiinampas niya nang mahina ang braso nito para na rin pawiin ang tensyon na nagbabadyang mamagitan sa kaswal nilang pag-uusap. "Naman, e! Lagi mo na lang akong ginu-goodtime!"

Arq chortled in amusement. "Kidding aside. You're more than a special girl, Lara.  Kahit sino'ng taong makakasama ka ay posibleng mahuhulog sa'yo. Pero hindi ko hahayaang mangyari 'yon, 'no! I'll eliminate them first!" She uttered with conviction.

Sinimangutan niya ito. "Tigil na sa trouble, pwede ba? Di pa magaling sugat ko, susugatan mo na naman ako."

Arq playfully puffed out her cheeks, a gesture so endearing that she had to refrain from pinching her.

"Sorry naman, honey-love. Kasi, totoo namang magkakagulo talaga kapag tinangka nilang agawin ka sakin." Pagpupumilit pa nito.

Sa patuloy na pagpapa-cute ni Arq ay hindi na talaga niya napigilan ang kamay para kurutin ang isang pisngi nito.
