I was sitting outside on a bench waiting for Caroline.
Caroline walked to me and sat down next to me.
Me "I figured we could carpool to the party at the swimming hole. "
Caroline shook her head " I'm not staying. Last night was just a momentary moment of weakness."
I raised an eyebrow " Momentary moment?"
She nodded.
Me "Are you sure you don't want to come back to school?"
She nodded.
I sighed " Caroline, needing your friends isn't a weakness, momentary or otherwise."
Caroline scoffed "Tell that to Stefan, who clearly needs no one."
I raised an eyebrow confused "Stefan?"
Caroline looked down.
Me "Caroline, where were you last night when i called you?"
She didn't answer.
I sighed out disappointed when it hit me "oh my god"
Caroline looked down "i'm sorry"
I held back tears "is there something else i should know about ?"
Caroline hesitated but then shook her head "Nothing. I just--I gotta go, I got breakfast with Enzo, so..."
She stood up and walked away.
In Ric's dorm room.
I asked irritated "Can you believe it?! She went to see Stefan!"
Ric was sitting on his chair with his feet up his desk and a drink in his hand"calm down"
Me "did you just tell me to calm down!?"
Ric "are you really mad she went to see Stefan?"
Me "I'm mad that she did it behind my fucking back!"
