2.58 "I Promise"

Suddenly the door was ripped open and Damon, Elena and Kai walked inside.

I stood up "What hell, Damon?!"

Damon "I have a plan"

I pointed at Kai, shocked "him?"

Kai "don't worry, sweetcheeks"

I snapped "shut up!"

Kai rolled his eyes and walked to the sink. 

He started washing his hands "All right. I need a 12-gauge needle, stat. I don't know what I'm gonna do with it, but I need it."

Elena rolled her eyes " You're not a doctor, so stop playing games. "

Me "I'm going to rip your head off if you screw this up. I promise you that" 

Damon " What she said. So do your stupid little magic-suction trick and suck the magic out of her. Right now."

Kai looked at me and Damon " I get why you two are so close. It's very dys-FUN-ctional."

I rolled my eyes. 

He chuckled " See what I did? Stressing the 'fun' in dysfunctional--"

Liz cut him off" Just get on with it, Kai. Listening to you talk makes me wanna die."

Kai"That's good."

He put one hand on Liz's arm, the other on her cheek, sucking the magic from her. 

Liz gasped in pain. 

Damon" Is it working?"

Elena shook her head" I have no idea."

Suddenly Jo walked inside. We looked at her. 

Her eyes were wide open. " What the hell is going on? What is he doing here?"

Kai" Hey, sis. Little busy. Be with you in a jiffy."

Jo" Elena?"

Elena " I'm gonna let Damon explain."

Damon looked at me for but i shook my head.

He looked at Jo" "Yeah."

They walked out. 

Elena to Kai "We're staying with you."

Kai pulled his hands away and turned to us " There. All done."

I walked to Liz and pushed Kai to the side " How are you feeling, Liz? Are you okay?"

Liz nodded" Yeah. Yeah, I think so."

I breathed out relieved and looked at Elena who did the same.

Suddenly the heart monitor started to peep. Liz was having a heart attack. 

Elena " Oh, my God. I think she's having a heart-attack."

Kai" Oh, that is so tragic. You know, 'cause you guys jumped through hoops to get the magic out of her system, but then her ticker's just not strong enough to take a little siphoning."

I looked at him "Kai, you have to fix this!"

He just disappeared.

I looked at Elena who didn't know what to do. 

Elena started doing compressions on Liz, who wasn't responding "Stay with me, Sheriff. Just...breathe!"

Me "come on, Liz"

Damon walked inside "hey. What happened?"

Elena" It's her heart. I'm losing her, Damon."

Damon" Okay, no offense Elena, but I think we need to get a real doctor."

Elena yelled " So find one! Now!"

Damon speeded out and came seconds later back with a doctor. 

Doctor" How long has she been down?"

Damon" What's the mean? Dead?"

Elena " I-I don't know. "

Me "a minute, maybe"

Elena " It feels like an hour."

The doctor was charging shock pads. 

Doctor" Clear! "

Then she shocked Liz. No reaction. 

Doctor shocked Liz again. No reaction.

Elena and i were on the verge of tears.  

Damon"Uh-uh. Hey, I compelled you to save her. "

He grabbed the shock pads and pushed the doctor away. 

Damon " Unless you want me to gouge your eyes out, I suggest you keep working. Here."

Doctor" I've done all that I can do. She's gone. I'm sorry."

Damon compelled him " Get out of here. Forget you're a total failure."

The doctor left and Damon threw the pads to the ground. 

Elena shook her head and started compressions again" No, no.I will not let this happen. Wake up!"

Damon put a hand on her back " Hey, she's gone."

Elena "Come on."

Caroline walked inside and ran over to her mom " No, no! Mom, mom!  Mom, mommy! No, mom, no. "

She started crying "Don't leave me, please. Please, no. Please don't leave me, mom."

Liz woke up and the heart monitor started peeping again. 

Caroline" Mom?"

Liz nodded"It's okay, baby, I'm right here."

Caroline sobbed "Mom."

Liz "Ohh, it's okay. I'm right here. I'm right here, baby. It's okay, it's okay."

Elena, Damon and i walked out of the room. 

I walked out and took some deep breaths. 

I heard behind me "you okay?"

I turned around "Liz almost died. Caroline's mom almost died"

Stefan didn't know how to react. 

I wanted to hug him so badly but before i could do something Damon walked out. 

Damon"you okay?"

I nodded. 

Damon"Liz wants to see you and Stefan"

I nodded and walked inside. Stefan followed me. I walked into her room. 

I smiled "hey, Liz"

Liz" So, looks like we can cross miracle cure off the list."

Stefan" there must be some other option."

I sat down on the edge of the bed "There has to be"

Liz "I need you two promise me something."Stefan nodded" Okay."

I nodded "anything"

Liz " When I'm gone, Caroline is going to need the two of you. Even if she doesn't know it. She's gonna need someone to help her move on with her life. Someone to just make her smile."

She sobbed " Promise me that you will do that, Adelaide, Stefan"

I took Liz's hand and nodded "i promise"

Stefan nodded too " I promise"
