A rather sad one today, I cried whilst writing. I hope it turned out okay...

Happy reading!

'BREAKING NEWS!
Y/n Y/l/n DIED IN A CAR CRASH WITH A DRUNKEN DRIVER.

The accident happened this afternoon, at 14:37 local time. She died on impact,  who the drunken driver isn't known yet, their DNA is on it's way to the lab. Y/n was on her way to the Formula 1 circuit to support her boyfriend, Charles Leclerc, Ferrari's Formula 1 driver. We don't exactly know how the accident happened, the unknown person did have too much alcohol in its blood proved a test, giving the idea that they caused it.'

Charles steps out of his car after a great qualification, P1, 0.063 seconds in front of Verstappen. He walks to his engineers and gives them a celebration hug, the race tomorrow seems to be the easiest yet if he won't have engine failure. He looks to the news-screen in the pit box and his face drops at the sight of the breaking news. (Gif up top:) He slowly pulls his ear-buds out, his green eyes still focusing on the screen, thinking 'this can't be true'. Mattia Binotto walks up to his driver, giving him a grieving 'bro-hug'.

"I'm sorry, man, we got the news during the beginning of Q3." He says, keeping his head hanging low in sadness.

"No, it's not true, she's stronger than this. They mistook her, this isn't her." The light leaves the driver's eyes, he goes with his hand through his hair. His mouth still a little open and tears are threatening to fall. "She can't be gone, I didn't even know she was here."

The driver opens his racing suit, suddenly the air heats up, too much for him to handle. He can't seem to get any air as his throat tightens. He doesn't want to cry, not in front of the team, fighting back the tears he walks closer to the screen to read the full message.

"Hey man, great Quali I heard, P1!" Sebastian Vettel walks up to his teammate, not having a clue of what got the whole world in a shock, he pats him on the back. Charles just gestures to the screen he hasn't taken his eyes of just yet. Seb reads the breaking news, his smile fades and in a soft mumble he says: "Holy Scheiße."

"She can't be gone right?" Charles' voice breaks just like his heart breaks in pieces. He doesn't want to believe the news but he knows she's gone. "I don't want her to be gone."

"It's going to be alright." Seb pulls Charles into a side-hug, himself still not progressing what happened. He knows he has to fight his own grief and be there for his mate.

"I love her. I'm racing, I'm risking my life every race and she dies? How in the world can this happen?"

-------------

Soon after the news spread, all the drivers and some engineers gathered to be there for and talk to Charles, themselves also grieving about the sudden passing on of Y/n. A sad atmosphere hanging around them, in the Ferrari hospitality, all thinking about the great things Y/n has done and all the good times they shared.

"We all loved her so much man, so sorry for your loss. She's in heaven now, together with god. Happily next to Niki, your dad and Jules." Lewis shakes Charles' hand, patting his shoulder. Leclerc knows he means it, but it most definitely doesn't feel like it. With a small crack in Hamilton's voice, he continues: "Stay strong."

"Thank you, Lewis." Lewis walks back into the crowd and Max walks towards him. Charles breathes out: "Max..."

At this moment all the hate and competition between them goes away and suddenly, for now, they're great friends. Forgetting all the races they've battled wheel to wheel, for now, they both needed each other. Knowing how much Y/n wanted Max and Charles to be friends so she could hang out with both. Max as her best friend and Charles as her lover, but it never worked out that way because of the races. She tried so hard to make their relationship better, but it never really worked. Charles was jealous of Max and her's friendship and Max was secretly jealous of their relationship.

"Rivalry aside. I'm so sorry you have to miss her. She was a blessing here. They organized a moment of silence before the race starts, as a sign of respect for her. Look I never believed in angels, but I believe that she's your guardian angel now." A tear falls down the Red Bull driver's face and he never cries, but now, his blue irises stand out against the redness in his eyes. He presses his hand on Charles' chest above his heart. "She'll always be here."

"I know, Max, I know. You were her mate too, I just still can't believe she's gone..." He takes a pause, taking a deep breath in and his eyes are threatening to let the tears fall. He shakes Max's shoulder whilst saying: "Good luck starting from P1 tomorrow, I'm not racing."

"No, she would've wanted it, you should race and win it for her."

"Only if I get FIA to play her favourite song on the podium, then I'll give it a try." He knows most of the people in the FIA loved his beloved girlfriend, so many people did, but she never really believed. He has always felt lucky to have her, he knew everyone would've wanted her, but she chose him. She was always so joyful when walking over the pitlane, greeting everyone with a big smile, even bigger than Ricciardo's. She was the sun of Formula 1, always shining during race weekends, even on her bad days. "She said she doesn't have a favourite song, but I know she does."

"They will, for her, they will," Max says and gives Charles a hug. Charles starts to cry on his shoulder, all control left his body at this moment. "Call me anytime if you need help with the funeral or need an ear, even when we're sleeping."

"I wanted to marry her. I bought a ring last night, at the airport back home I'd ask her to marry me. Now she's gone!" He cries out and Max holds him some tighter. Leclerc doesn't care anymore about the media's eye, the pain in his chest his unbearable. "My worst nightmare became the truth."
