"So, I read about this karting center downtown..." Gina nags, scrolling through her phone on the hotel bed. "Can we go? Now we're in Madrid?"

"All you ever think about is racing!" Victoria laughs, throwing a pillow to her.

"But it's Carlos' center!" Gina throws the pillow back, looking into my eyes. "Please, can we go? Laura wants to too I texted her..."

"We don't have anything to do anyways." As soon as I said that Gina jumps up and runs to the door with the biggest smile on her face. I laugh: "Why are you guys my friends?"

"You girls coming or not?"

"I want that one!" Gina runs to the karts like a child, pointing to the kart she likes. I pay the sweet lady the money for the karts and want to walk to my friends as I bump into someone tall in the doorpost. A very build man in a racing suit and his aftershave has quite the heavy scent.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't watch where I was going." He says and I look up to him, his brown eyes lock mine. We smile at each other, he seems nice and kind. An orange helmet rests underneath his arm and my smile slightly fades, I know him from somewhere.

"No, no problem, it's my fault." I smile to him again as I take a step back. A loud squeak fills the karting center, Gina. I look at her and her hands are in front of her mouth in shock, jumping up and down on her place. Victoria and Laura look at her confused whilst putting on their helmets. I shout over to her: "What's wrong Gin?"

"That's Carlos Sainz! The Carlos Sainz! Y/n you're talking to- Oh my god! I'm going to faint..." She screams pointing towards us. I laugh and Carlos scoffs uncertain of the situation, probably afraid we'd tell the world he's here.

"Formula 1 fans I see?" He speaks up and he looks to the floor. I look back at him and take another step back.

"Yeah, we love to watch it together. It's nice to meet you, I've always wanted to meet a driver, but Gina is the worst honestly. She'd almost- Nevermind." My laughter slowly dies down at my last sentence and I back look at my girls. "I have to go, I have to beat them."

"Bet you can't beat me." He shouts after me, making me stop and look back at him.

"Are you sure you want to bet on that?"

"I won!" I jump around when Carlos finally steps out his kart, smiling to the disappointed face of the Formula 1 driver. "Take that!"

"Beginners luck!" He says mockingly, looking into my eyes as he walks off the track towards me. Some kind of frustration fills the air around us, making me wonder if it's mutual. "I let you win."

"Oh my lord. I karted against Carlos Sainz! Who would've guessed that!" Gina steps out of her kart and with her helmet in her hands she bounces up to us. I can see that Carlos tries to ignore her, focusing deeply on me. "My life's complete, man, I can peacefully die."

"You let me win? I was far in front of you!" I playfully push him on his shoulder, he takes a step closer to me. "You're just pissed that you lost from a girl."

"You guys were way too fast! I was one lap behind! Y/n, how could you lap me?" Victoria says fake offended as she walks up to us too.

"I'm sorry, girl you just were too slow." I laugh, hugging her sideways. I know this has never been her thing, but she always wants to try. I look back at Carlos, who's still dangerously close to me.

"Want to go again? I will beat you this time." He's dangerously close, so close I can feel his body warmth. His stunning brown eyes don't leave mine, making me melt. I know what kind of frustration this is now...

"What if you don't?" I tease him, smiling proudly to him. His eyes go even darker, making my smile fade away a little, I look at his lips for a brief moment.

"I will, and when I do, I get your number." He slowly leans in, making my knees go weak.

"Deal." I whisper to him. His lips brush over mine and his hand finds the back of my neck, he starts to kiss me more firmly. I can hear Gina scream and run around in excitement in the background. Honestly, I do not mind this kiss at all.
