"Grayer, come on! You gotta get in the bath!"

"No! And you can't make me, or else I'll tell mommy and daddy you tried to take my clothes off without my permission!"

I sighed in frustration as Grayer ran to another room and slammed the door shut. I collapsed to the floor in exhaustion. I had been chasing the kid around for at least 20 minutes, trying to get him to take his damn bath before his mother got home, but he just refused.

I had started being Grayer's nanny a week ago and I was already on the verge of quitting. I had tried everything to try and get along with Grayer. I tried being nice, I tried letting him do whatever he wanted to do (in moderation), I even tried a little tough love. But nothing! The kid would not listen to me, he would not behave, and his parents were never around for me to ask them to speak to him.

There was a knocking at the door and I couldn't help but letting out a loud groan again. I went to the door and found my friend, Hayden, standing there.

Hayden and I had known each other since high school. He was part of the reason I had managed to get the job as Grayer's nanny, whether I wanted to thank him or kill him for that was still being debated.

"No offense, but what do you want Hayden? I'm having some trouble with Grayer and if he doesn't get his bath before Mrs. X comes home, I'm totally gonna be screwed," I sighed.

"Well hello to you too, (Y/N)," Hayden said. "I just came to see if you needed any help with Hayden. I could hear you two yelling from upstairs."

"That's just wonderful," I huffed. "No, I don't need any help. I just need to figure out how to get on Grayer's good side so he'll take a goddamn bath!"

"I heard that! I'm telling mommy you cursed!" came Grayer's voice from down the hall.

I groaned again and turned to go to the room he was in. I heard Hayden chuckle as he closed the door behind him and followed me to Grayer's room. I tried to turn the knob and found that Grayer had it locked. Who the hell puts a lock on a young child's door?!

"Grayer!" I called. "Please unlock the door, you have to get your bath!"

"No! I don't need a bath! Go away!"

I sighed heavily and turned to Hayden. "Can you talk to him? He likes you."

"Oh no. You said you didn't need my help, so I'm taking the backseat on this one."

My hands curled up into fists and I wanted to hit something, but I took a couple deep breaths to try and calm down. I leaned against Grayer's door and slid down onto the floor. I was giving up, Grayer had won. I wouldn't give him his bath and would take the verbal abuse I was about to get from his mother.

Noticing my anguish, Hayden sighed and nodded for me to move. I shuffled aside a little and let him approach the door.

He knocked, then called, "Hey Grayer? It's Hayden. Do you think you could come out and get a bath for (Y/N) so she doesn't get in trouble with your mommy?"
