I woke up with a splitting headache. I tried to open my eyes but even the smallest bit of light that was coming into the room made my head feel like it was being stabbed with a million little needles. I covered my eyes and groaned.

"Well, good morning to you, too."

My eyes shot open again. I braced the pain to look over and see an unfamiliar female standing in the doorway of the bedroom, wearing only an oversized shirt. My shirt, I came to realize. I also came to realize that I wasn't in my own bedroom.

The girl laughed, at my expression I'd assume, and approached the bed. She held out two aspirins and a glass of water to me. I braced myself and sat up, my head still spinning as if I was still drunk.

"God, it's been a long time since I was this hungover," I groaned. I took the aspirin and the water and swallowed them. "Thank you."

"No problem," she responded. "I'd believe that, by the way. You were trashed last night."

"I was not!" I argued, although I knew that was a lie considering I was in the bed of a girl whose name I couldn't remember and had obviously had sex with the night before.

She raised her eyebrow at me. "Really? Do you remember coming home with me last night?"

I sighed. "Okay maybe I was a little bit drunk..."

She chuckled. "Yeah, well, so was I. I don't usually go home with random guys I've met at bars but..." She trailed off before shaking her head. "You don't want to hear my sob story. I guess you just want your clothes and get the hell out of here as soon as possible."

"I didn't say that," I told her. "I mean, you just helped to save me from an awful hangover, the least I can do is listen to what's wrong."

My still unnamed companion smiled and sat next to me, with her back against the headboard.

"It's the same old story, girl has an awful breakup, goes out to drink, hooks up with some guy to get her mind off things," she explained. "Never thought I'd be that girl, but I was way more upset over the breakup than I thought. I was already a bit tipsy by the time I got to the club from drinking at home."

I put one arm around her shoulder and she rested her head on mine.

Now, I'm not one who usually has one night stands. I've been in a serious relationship for the past couple years, with one girl or another, and also was never really into the idea of a one night stand. But, I was pretty sure this was not how it was supposed to go. Usually, from my knowledge, they end with one person getting up and sneaking out the door, or with some awkward banter before going their separate ways and never speaking again.

However, I didn't really want never speak to this girl again. She was seemed nice, and she was definitely very cute. But how exactly do you tell someone whose name you don't even remember that you'd like to continue to talk after a one night stand? How do you ask a girl you just had sex with what her name was?

"Well," she said, "enough of 'whoa as me'-ing, I'm going to make breakfast. You're free to stay if you want, or if you want to leave you can, I just don't think I can give you this shirt back. It's a little comfy."

"It looks better on you anyways," I told her. "If I'm welcome, I wouldn't mind staying. But um...this is incredibly awkward but...what's - "

"My name?" she finished. "It's (Y/N). That's not awkward because I was going to ask you the same thing."

"Chris," I replied.

She smiled. "Alright then, Chris. Come down whenever you're ready, I'll start breakfast."

She started to walk out the door, then paused and turned back around. "By the way, I would greatly appreciate it if my underwear was returned, thank you."

I looked at her puzzled. She nodded to the floor where my discarded pants were. I reached down for them and picked them up. Sure enough, in my back pocket was a pair of lacy panties. I felt my cheeks heat up as I threw them to (Y/N), who caught them and slid them back on with ease.

"You took them when we were in the club," she told me. "You told me if I wanted them back I'd have to come get them. I think I earned them back."

She winked at me before leaving the room. I couldn't help but smile and laugh to myself. Oh yeah, I'd really like to see this girl more often.
