How could I even feel bad for banishing Cathy? She's still being stupid and messing around with a damn vampire! How insane is she? And Jade's now decided it's okay?! I scoffed in annoyance as I slipped inside my own apartment, locking the door behind me and walking to my fridge to grab a slice of leftover pizza from last night. My phone began ringing loudly in my pocket, shocking me for just a moment. I pulled it out to see Jade's name across the top. I rolled my eyes and put it back down. "No thanks." I grumbled as I placed it back down onto the counter. I let the phone ring out.

"Goddammit, Vanessa!" I jumped again at the sound of Cathy's voice outside my front door. I found myself glaring at it. "Let us in."

"I'm not letting it in." I replied, walking to my couch and collapsing down on top of it to finish my pizza.

"It? I think you mean he. And his name is Mike." Cathy corrected bitterly. I rolled my eyes. "I can turn into a huntress and knock this door down." She warned suddenly. I frowned and sat up.

"I'm just saying, I don't want i- him to come into my apartment." I shrugged even though she couldn't see it. I was annoyed to say the least and completely shocked still.

"He won't come in then. There's a balcony. He can just stand on that and listen." I could imagine Cathy's shrug now. I glared at the door before walking to it, putting the last bit of my pizza slice into my mouth. The second my door was open, I was glaring at the creature.

"I'll just be on the balcony." It sped away so fast we couldn't see it, not in human form anyways. Cathy gave me a little glare then stepped inside followed by Jade.

"I've been seeing him for three months now." Cathy told me as she sat on my couch. I watched her curiously, mainly wondering what the hell she thought she was doing. "And not once has he bit or hurt me."

"That means nothing." I replied quickly. "HE is still a bloodsucking monster." By then, Mike was on the balcony. He, I guess that's what I'm calling it, flinched at my choice of words. Guess he doesn't like monster.

"Yes, blood bags are a prey he loves to hunt." Cathy retorted angrily. "Just trust me here? Please?"

"Cath, you're insane! You just got KICKED out of the clan for sleeping with him and now you're still doing it? AND defending him?" Even Jade rolled her eyes at me.

"Vanessa, you don't have to be so stubborn!" Cathy complained. She pulled me to sit with her on the couch. "Give him a damn chance!"

"No! He is what he is. And that's a creature that shouldn't even be on this Earth!" Jade flinched and reached out to grab my hand instead. She looked into my eyes.

"He's really nice and kind." She offered, thinking it'd change my mind.

"No." I replied sternly. "No way."
