She broke her gaze from me to look back at her friend, Jade. In more ways than one, I wanted to just stare at her and be alone. Just to see what she was like. Maybe even tasted like. Hunter or not, she was hot and taste can mean more than one thing. I could smell something similar to attraction coming off of her. Who was she attracted to? I swear, I know I shouldn't be jealous but if it was someone else then I wasn't going to be happy. Her friend, on the other hand, was nervous as hell. I could hear her heartbeat and smell it coming off of her. Her scent was kind of disgusting in my opinion. I had no intention of coming close to her. My control was slipping every now and then already. "Where do I sit?" Jade asked in a fake confidence. She clearly just didn't want us to know she was scared of us. Too late I guess.
"I guess you'll have to find seats on our laps." Kevin replied with a wide smirk on his face. My eyes darted to him for a moment uncomfortably. Vanessa scoffed and mumbled something.
"Strega." Her skin turned slightly paler and I felt the power coming to her body. Her eyes glowed a purple as she waved her hand. Two comfortable-looking chairs appeared out of nothing in the middle of the room. Ho. Ly. Shit. I had to shift in my seat, casually moving my pants. Vanessa smiled at Kevin though she didn't mean it and sat down on the seat, turning back human. The sudden smell of her blood becoming stronger made me hold my breath for a second. My control was slipping away and fast. With six human girls in the room, I was bound to hurt someone. I wasn't paying attention anymore, my eyes focused on the ground as to not let myself kill or hurt one of the humans. My stomach felt empty and my fangs were trying to get out. I couldn't help the growl that I let out. Sam looked over to me and his eyes went wide. He sped over to me, grabbing my arm and dragging me quickly out to the backyard.
"Dude!" I didn't reply, just stood there trying to breathe in the fresh air rather than her scent. "Colby, you're changing." My eyes snapped to his.
"I know." My gums still stung from them getting pierced and healed over and over again each time I'd lose or gain control. Sam gave me a meaningful look.
"Maybe you should go somewhere else." He suggested as he started to walk inside. "Don't want any casualties tonight, especially not with two highly ranked hunters." Highly ranked hunters. Those three words rang in my head. These girls are important. Knowing my luck, one of them was princess of the biggest clan. Maybe even queen! I wouldn't be surprised. Sam left so I kept breathing in the night air. There was still the lightest hint of Vanessa in it and that was driving me absolutely mad. Finally, I sped out of the house. There's plenty of places to go that wouldn't smell of her. And so that's what I continued towards. All while trying to keep in control.
