We were soon just lying in Colby's bed, still fully clothed you nasties. I was comfortably wrapped up in his arms and thinking about things. Especially my apartment. I should really go back at some point today. I really need to. Maybe I should ask Colby... "Can we go back to my place?" I looked up at his face to see his eyes were shut but he wasn't sleeping.
"Sure. It might be one of the only safe places for you now." I watched his chest rising and falling gently as he breathed.
"You realise this house has many many vampires and two other hunters to 'keep me safe', right? Plus, I'm a hunter, witch, and wolf." Colby's lips turned up into a smile but it soon disappeared for him to be serious again.
"A hunter with a soft spot for vampires." He teased, knowing full well I couldn't have much to say back. I'm literally cuddling with one.
"I can always not have a soft spot for vampires." I replied, kicking his leg but staying comfortable there with him.
"Ouch." I giggled and shuffled in his arms to get ready to sit up.
"Come on, let's go." I pulled on his arm but he didn't budge. He didn't even change his facial expression. "Colby, get your lazy ass out of bed right now before I leave without you." I snapped and walked over to my phone to check if anyone had texted me. Of course not, all of my friends are pretty much in this damn house. "Maybe I'll pay old William a visit." Colby snarled as he suddenly appeared by my side. I nodded at him knowing I'd done my job. "That's what I thought." He took my hand and we went down the stairs at human speed. Everyone was still in the garage as expected.
"Want someone else to come with you?" Jade asked the second I opened the door. I looked between everyone questioningly then shook my head with a little smile.
"I'll be fine with just Colby, thanks though Jade." I glanced over at Cathy and Mike. She was knocked out cold on his lap and he was watching her. "I was just coming in to say we're leaving even though you all already knew that, clearly."
"Be safe." Kat told me. She sounded and looked genuine, her face soft and kind. Devyn was looking down at Colby and I's hands when I glanced at her.
"I will. See you guys probably tomorrow." I stepped back out fo the room and went to walk away.
"Colby?" Elton asked quickly. I stopped in my tracks, giving my boyfriend a look to talk to his friend. He turned to look at Elton.
"Yeah?" Aaron looked worried about what he was going to say like he already knew.
"Keep her safe, dude." Colby stared at him for a moment as everyone seemed to be doing before he nodded.
"Of course. What else am I here for?" He didn't want to see their reactions to his semi-endearing phrase. He pulled me at vampire speed out to the drive. My car was still sat near the gate so I walked to it with him.
"You know, you can be more... human, Colby. You don't need to shut off emotions." I said as we sat down. He glanced at me and seemed to gulp.
"I know." He pulled his phone out of his pocket, going to look at it to avoid the conversation.
"Colby." I warned. His eyes flicked to me. "I love you." I swear I could see him smile. It was masked by him glancing back at the house. They'd all be listening. I raised an eyebrow at him and he sighed.
"I love you too." A wide smile covered my face. I leaned over the car to kiss him then started the engine.
"You'll get so much shit for that when you're alone with them." I began driving.
"No shit."
