~ Part 41 ~

"The beast has awaken." Aaron joked, slowly lowering his gaze to me. I rolled my eyes at him and put my phone away to pay attention to the group and soon, my boyfriend. Of course, I didn't hear anything until a door somewhat slammed and not even a second later, I felt hands on me. That moment later, I was on Colby's lap and he was showered and dressed already. I was starting to get used to this whole vampire speed thing.

"Glad you're awake, Colby." Kevin said with a smirk on his face but Colby wasn't paying attention. I could feel his gaze on me, on the side of my face as I looked at the others, at anyone who was talking. Colby's hands slowly made their way to my thigh and waist. I tried not to react, to just sit there on top of him but his fingers were tracing shapes on my thigh, dangerously close to what wasn't my legs. I shifted on top of him, leaning more on him and lifting my legs so he couldn't have the same hold on me. He almost let out a little chuckle but stopped himself halfway through. I finally let my eyes meet his and that's when my entire world shut off except for him. They were really blue - human blue - as if he'd just had a really good feed. I knew the other vampires could definitely hear my heart rate increasing but I didn't care much. I sent him a smile and got one back, small but there. I then leaned in, kissing his lips. He responded pretty much immediately, the hand on my waist tightening.

"Get a room." Jake said through a cough. Colby growled deep in his throat as he pulled away adding to the smile I already had on my face. He looked genuinely pissed at Jake, though, staring him down. The others let out little chuckles and stifled laughs. "Just saying." He smirked, knowing he'd succeeded in his mission.

"Well, don't say." Colby replied as he pulled me somehow closer to him.

"I apologise." Jake wasn't even the slightest bit serious but Colby 'accepted' it and turned his attention back to me. That moment, I felt a breeze pass by me. I looked back to see Elton standing just next to the door.

"Why hello there, Vanessa." He walked to his usual seat, plopping down with a small smirk on his face. "What have I missed?"

"Well they started ma-"

"Another word and I'll snap your neck." Colby threatened Mike, staring at him with narrowed eyes. Mike's mouth slowly closed and I smiled, turning my head away from them. My boyfriend is boss.

"Anyways, I need to go home." I said. I could tell that only some of them knew what I was doing, getting Colby away so that they could talk freely. Colby just nodded, tightening his arms, then we were gone. I opened my eyes in my apartment.
