~ Part 14 ~ Colby

Mike laughed as he and Cathy slipped past the two girls to sit on the couch together next to Corey and Devyn. I couldn't really take my eyes off of the one girl. She had something about her. "You got a feisty one." Sam laughed, flicking his gaze between them. There was a hint of anger in the one's eyes, cockiness in the other - the one I was looking at. She casually rolled her sleeve up to reveal the hunter tattoo. Fuck. I couldn't help but just stare at the way it somehow made her even more attractive to me. That thing means she's my literal natural enemy but here I was, finding her insanely beautiful. Aaron hissed and sped to the opposite end of the room, pushing himself against the garage doors. He looked almost terrified and definitely pissed off.

"A hunter?!" He yelled at Mike. The girl just rolled her eyes and leaned back against the wall, mirroring him to tease him. The other girl copied her.

"It's okay, they're cool." Mike glanced back at them. "Well, at least they are with me. Cathy's one too." That got my attention. I turned my head to Cathy, everyone else doing the exact same thing. She suddenly got uncomfortable and shrunk further into her seat next to Mike. There was a hint of fright in the air so I relaxed a little.

"Don't give us a reason to kill you and we won't." The other girl said confidently as she pushed herself off of the wall. She looked proud of herself and quite happy to have said what she did. I found it stupid but okay. The girl was looking at her friend as if she were some sort of leader. I didn't like that. She looked like the leader, fiercer and more authoritative.

"Anyways." Mike laughed at them. "This is Vanessa." So that's her name. It's pretty and kind of old-timey at the same time. I looked her up and down once more, even taking in the tattoo. "Jade, and you already know Cathy." I didn't even nod to acknowledge Mike's words. I was still just caught up in the one hunter girl. "This is Elton, Aaron, Kevin, Jake, his girlfriend - Tara, she's human, Corey, his girlfriend - Devyn, she's also human, Sam, Katrina who's also human and his girlfriend, and finally, Colby." She took in everyone and their outfits. I could see it in her eyes, memorising us. Then she met my eyes. And I got stuck in place. It allowed me to investigate the colour, the blue that had so many patterns only making her more beautiful. Damn you, Mike.
