"Told you." Ness smirked as she leaned back still in my arms. Our eyes met once more and I felt like it was driving me even crazier.

"You still smell amazing." I gave her a little wicked smile that only made her blush slightly. That didn't help my situation at all. She traced her fingers down my arm to my hands, prying them from around her waist and holding them.

"I know this'll sound crazy." She started, trying not to smile at herself for how 'crazy' whatever she was going to say would be. "But um, do you want to have dinner with me?" I laughed a little and her face completely changed.

"I've never heard you actually laugh before." She said, shocked, and stuck staring at me. I glanced over at her kitchen, sniffing for what food she has.

"Is that pizza?" I asked. She smiled and nodded, letting go of me to rush over to her kitchen. It felt so... normal. Like we'd known each other for ages and like we weren't mortal enemies. She opened her fridge, pulling out a pizza box.

"It's a little old but want some?" I nodded and walked to her, taking one of the two slices left. Yes, I know, vampires eat human food! We do because we like the taste and we can. What? You expect us to just survive off of just blood? She watched me take a bite curiously, leaning on her elbows against the counter. I felt myself trying not to smile at her facial expression as I copied her stance. "This is so strange to me." She admitted, her eyes travelling all over my face before landing on mine.

"It is to me too. I'm not used to hearing a heart beat." My eyes flicked down to her chest then back to her face. She smiled shyly, looking down at the pizza. It was nothing like her. Or at least not how I knew her.

"Maybe you'll have to get used to it." She winked and stood up fully, turning to get herself a drink. At that moment, I heard footsteps coming down the hall.

"Honey, I'm sure she's... Oh my god." A man's voice paused. "There's a vampire." He whispered extremely quietly. I sped out of the balcony, kneeling on the edge and watching. Ness turned around with her mouth open, about to speak but she soon realised I wasn't there. She turned quickly to the door as there was a knock. I watched her walk to it and check through the peephole nervously, shifting rings on her fingers and taking some deep breaths.

"It's okay." The woman on the other side whispered. "She'll open the door and everything will be fine." Sure enough, Ness pulled the door open to reveal a man and woman who looked strikingly like her. The woman had the same eyes and the father the same hair. They both looked her up and down worriedly then stepped inside.

"Mom! Dad! What the hell?!" She exclaimed worriedly. I knew that all of them could still sense me and that I'd have to get out of their reach otherwise they'd find me. Sighing, I jumped up to the roof and sat on the ledge, looking out at LA. It truly was a beautiful city.
