I didn't know what was happening until his lips touched mine softly, gently. I knew it was Colby who was kissing me. I knew he was a vampire. I knew he could take advantage at any moment. But I didn't care. I let myself change back into a human and melted into his touch. In that moment, I figured out what my tattoo was reacting to since it didn't burn even though a vampire was quite literally touching me but instead fluttered like a butterfly. Similar to the ones in my stomach as his hands rested on my back. They felt strong and kind of drove me a little crazy. I couldn't have him yet every nerve in my body wanted him. I wrapped my arms around his neck and stood up on my toes, pushing myself closer to him. I had no intention of harming him. My mind couldn't even fathom it. I slowly pulled away from him, planting a small peck on his lips. I could have sworn I saw a small smile on his face before he disappeared, leaving me slightly confused on why I was so... willing and why the hell he'd come here in the first place, if it wasn't for that, that is. I shook my head and walked back inside. My tattoo was back to normal, telling me he wasn't anywhere near. I felt dreamy though. Dreamy and happy. Why was that? He's a vampire! Ew! Why did I just willingly sort of make out with a vampire? And why did it come here for that? What signals did I give it to tell it it was okay? Nevertheless, I brushed through my hair and rushed out of my apartment to go and get Jade and Cathy. I knocked on Jade's door and waited patiently for her to open. There was clearly the sound of movement inside. Eventually, the front door opened. "Oh, hey!" My best friend smiled at me, reaching out to pull me inside. I frowned at her before I saw them both. Mike and Cathy were sat on Jade's couch just talking quietly. I met Mike's eyes, my tattoo just now starting to get tingly and worse as I approached.
"Hi, Vanessa." Mike said with a smile and a little wave. Cathy smiled at me all the same. As if she wasn't cuddling up to a monster... although I did just kiss one...
"Hi." I mumbled, sitting down on the other end of the couch, Jade slipping in next to me. I tried not to glare, staring straight ahead of me.
"Did you just have vampire trouble?" Mike asked, leaning forwards to pick up his mug filled with coffee. I watched him bring it to his mouth and take a sip. Before I could question it, Jade started speaking.
"What's he talking about?" She asked me, almost sounding scared. I met her eyes and smiled then sighed.
"Just some random vampire followed me. It must have been after I killed that one yesterday. Don't worry, it went away and they can't get in anyways." I shrugged casually, flashing a smile at Cathy to calm her nerves whilst taking Jade's hand for the same effect.
"As long as you weren't bitten." Jade 'casually' looked over my neck. She looked worried for me, which I found sweet but unnecessary.
"I'd know if she was, girls, and she wasn't." Mike told us as he stood up from the couch. "No need to worry."
