~ Part 46 ~ Colby

"Maybe you should be fully charged." Ness said. I frowned at her, making sure she knew I had no idea what she was getting at. Did she want me to feed on humans? No, she'd never suggest that. I watched her carefully as she shifted the hair from her neck, making the vein visible to me. My breath hitched in my throat at the sight. She couldn't possibly want me to feed off of her, could she?! She'd never allow that to happen to herself. She didn't like it when she saw Kat, Devyn and Tara's bite marks. I knew she saw them as Sam, Corey and Jake's personal blood bags. Which of course, wasn't what it was like for them.

"W-What?" I couldn't help but stutter. If she was saying what I think she was saying, then I knew for certain I was going crazy. She smiled and continued to eat as if we were having a normal conversation.

"You'll need to be fully charged if I let you fight those old vampires." Woah, who said I couldn't beat them anyways? "So, I want you to feed from me." Those words made my mouth salivate and my fangs drop into my mouth even when I tried to force them back up. I backed away from her so that I wouldn't bite her right there and then.

"I don't think I could stop." I admitted as my back hit the wall. There's no way I could lose her and definitely not if I was the cause of that. I'd never forgive myself. When I looked back at Vanessa, she had her hand up, her tattoo pointed purposefully at me.

"I'd make sure you do." The low growl that rippled from my throat was unintentional but told her all the same what she was doing to me. She swallowed the last of her food and hopped down from her chair, getting closer and closer with each step. She stopped about a foot away from me. "But I trust you anyways."

"Why?" I couldn't stop the question before I'd said it. I hated how insecure I sounded but it was the truth. It was how I was feeling and I wanted to tell her that.

"Because you're my natural enemy but I've still never grown so attached to someone so quickly. And I know you feel the same." Like you wouldn't believe. I couldn't take my eyes off of her confident posture. "The whole time I've known you, whether it's not been that long or whatever, you've kept yourself in control for me. You've slept in my bed and even kissed my neck without biting me."

"Because I haven't tasted your blood." My voice was strained as it didn't want to come out. All my mouth wanted to do was bite the thin skin of her neck.

"Colby." She attracted my eyes to hers. "Trust yourself. You're confident in everything else you do so I'm asking you to be confident for this as well." She held her hand out to me with a small smile on her face. It took me awhile. My thoughts were all over the place. But eventually, I took her hand.
