Vampire Hunter // Colby Brock

~ Part 54 ~

Colby's face was burrowed into my neck while the others talked strategy and ensuring that I wouldn't be left truly alone in case something happened. It was mostly trying to figure out how to protect me without my clan finding out, which would be hard considering my entire clan can tell when there's a vampire nearby. Occasionally, Colby would kiss or nip at my neck and every time my heart rate would increase telling everyone else what he was doing. I could feel him smiling when it happened. "So, Colby doesn't want to bite you anymore?" Kevin moved to sitting against the bean bag Colby and I were in to talk to me. Colby let out a little growl but said nothing so I decided to talk to him.

"No, I don't think so. It's easier for him, at least." I replied as Colby's hands tightened to tell me to shut up.

"That's so interesting. Did that happen with you, Corey?" Corey turned his head and nodded, smiling.

"It's easier after the first bite because you know that you can have the blood more or less whenever and it satisfies you for longer." He explained, leaning forwards whilst holding Devyn in interest.

"Same for me and Kat." Sam nodded proudly, a small smirk on his own face. He nuzzled into Kat's neck making her smile and blush.

"Jake?" Kevin asked. Jake just nodded. He was wrapped up in Tara at that moment, staring into her eyes and the two were smiling. It reminded me of a few moments I'd had with Colby where we did the same thing. Just got lost together. "That's so cool."

"Well, find yourself a girl, Kev." I nudged his arm with my foot, smiling at him. It made a little smile creep up into his face and he nodded.

"Maybe I will." Then he sped off to his usual seat. I had noticed that Jade wasn't speaking as much as she was before. Instead, she was staring mostly into space. She'd only come to reality to listen to our conversation. She gave me worried eyes to which I smiled reassuringly. I mouthed 'You good?' So she just nodded and looked away at her phone, typing away. I turned back to Colby and whispered as quietly as I could in his ear.

"Something's wrong with Jade. I need to talk to her alone later." He came out from my neck and looked into my eyes, shaking his head with a worried expression on his face. "She's a hunter, too, so I'll be fine. Plus, we'll talk in my apartment where no vampire can get in but you." He stared at me for a moment before nodding, defeated. I was proud of myself but didn't celebrate too early. I knew he'd still stick around to protect me.
