new beginnings

august 1st

"hey mama... how are you?" i asked, answering the facetime call.

"hi baby! i'm great... i have news for you." she said, smiling

"oh god. i have no clue." i laughed.

"we're moving to LA!" she said, excitedly.

"oh my gosh! really?" i asked.

"yeah... we'll be between new york and LA now... we did an online tour of a house in glendale over the weekend and we loved it. so we put our bid on it and we should be moving within the next two weeks." she told me.

"that's great! are elena and ethan coming?" i asked.

"they'll be going back and fourth as they feel.. and we'll mainly be in new york but this way i can see my grand babies more!" she told me.

"i can't believe they're half a year old. time has honestly flown by. they're still so itty bitty though." i admitted

"it really has. i can't wait to see them again!" she smiled into the camera. "what're you up to today?" she asked me as i took a bite of my salad.

"i'm going to look at a house with tara and jake in malibu, for them and the twins. and then taras parents are watching our twins and their twins while we all go to an event." i told her.

"nice! they're looking into moving?" she asked, making me realize i didn't update her on the mathew situation or the fact that colby and i got a house.

"oh.... um.. yeah there's this place in malibu, on the beach, that they've been looking at." i told her, deciding to share the news with her when she comes into town next.

"that's lovely... i'm sure you'll miss her though, yeah?" she asked.

"well we aren't going to live in this tiny apartment forever." i laughed, still not telling her i'm the one moving for sure.

"i suppose not... how are violet and grayson?" she asked me, thankfully changing the subject

"they're good... they're both sleeping or if show you them." i told her.

"where's that husband of yours?" she asked me.

"he's filming with sam, jake and corey right now. they're in san fran to film at some haunted place... i didn't ask questions." i laughed.

"do you ever think that might be dangerous for your kids?" she asked me.

"what?" i looked at her confused.

"what if something gets attached to him or if something happens?" she asked, making me think.

"i'm not too worried, mom. they're normally really safe about everything they do." i told her.

"i believe you... i love you and colby... and the twins. i just don't want anything bad to happen to any of you." she told me.

"how's nova? i haven't talked to elena in like two weeks." i confessed.

"they honestly don't come around a lot... she's too fed up with her boyfriend." she admitted.

"i cant believe his sister is who colby cheated on me with. i don't know how she can see past that." i told my mom.

"i don't particularly like that boy at all. he's driving elena away from us." she confessed. "not to mention that his sister tried to kill you alongside mathew."

"they're assholes. i hope she actually finds someone who is good for her." i told my mom.

"did she tell you that bryce came by to visit... hes doing fairly good with novy." she told me.
